GOD WILL NOT LET YOU FALL
My family and I went camping this past summer. We took several hikes down the little river bed as it flowed through the Cuyamaca State Park near our home in San Diego. We stopped for a picnic lunch, and ate with our feet in the cool running water. As I ate my sandwich, I started tracing a trail through the rocks that shot up into the air in front of us. It was an old habit from days gone by of rock scrambling: no ropes, no hardware, no helmet, no brains! As teenagers, and even into college, my buddies and I would climb the rocks of Big Bend in Texas. I'm sure I'll get in trouble with the folks from safety but I confess...I got up and started to climb; partly to prove something to myself and mostly to show off for my bride of nine years. Our daughter of fifteen watched me for a bit and started to follow. She caught up with me and we went over the basics. I showed her the path she was to take which involved little skill and kept mom happy. I took the more difficult route and we met at the top. Unless you rappel, getting down is usually more difficult, so I stayed close to Tiffany in order to offer help should she need it. The tendency is to cling to the rock but often it's best to lean out away from it for better balance and stability. As she was coming down, I was below verbally guiding her. She couldn't see the next ledge below her, and was trying her best to stretch in order to touch it while hanging on to the hand hold above. I could see exactly what she needed to do and knew she was capable of doing it. I told her she just had to trust me. With confidence in Dad, she lowered herself the last few inches and fully planted her feet on secure rock. You could see the pride shining in her eyes (and probably, mine too)! Just think of how many times our heavenly "Dad" is below us; seeing the next step perfectly, even when we are blind to the future. There are times when we simply have to trust God to not let us fall. The more we learn to depend on God the easier it gets to place our lives into those loving hands with confidence. The next time you find your footing somewhat unsure, and the fear of falling looms up from below, remember that God is there for you, anxious to show you the way and guide you one step at a time.

That’s a good snowfall! You’re going to have a GOOD blanket on the ground this winter.
It’s gorgeous to watch as it falls but it does make it hard to get around.
I’ve been watching a storm system work its way towards us tonight and it sounds like it’s almost here. I just heard a couple of long rolls of thunder. Just might need to head outside to see if there’s anything impressive to watch. LOL! Been a long time since we had a good light show.

((LOL))Well, we're doing a little better this morning. We had some problems with the computer.
At one point there was a problem with startup. Repairing took a long time and I ended up turning it off and turning it back on.
It was way slow and Google Chrome wasn't working. I ended up improperly shutting down the computer twice.
I then found a solution. I went to control panel, then to hardware, power options, change plan settings, change advanced power settings, then to USB settings and disabled selected suspend.
I also uninstalled Canon Quick Menu. It was part of the problem.
I also ran CHKDISK and everything turned out OK. I went ahead and put the computer to sleep. This morning, All I had to do was lift up the top and it came back on. We'll see how things go in the coming days.
Bo found 3 gophers and caught 2 yesterday. He also played with a friend, a stray dog. All in all yesterday was a good day.

I know so little about messing around in the computer and fixing it. You sound very confident and you fixed it. Good for you.
What a good hunter you are, Bo...and a friend to play with, too. I guess you folks had a good day.

Well, we’re getting a little rain and should get some heavier stuff soon. No light show worth watching though. Infrequent and appears to be cloud-to-cloud. Nothing to see really. Oh well.
We’ll get several waves of this stuff rolling through into the evening and should have a nice rain total once it’s over. That’s the important thing.

Hurrah is right! We have a lot of making up to do after such a dry 2016.
I’m getting a better light show right now on a nest cam at Savannah, GA than we had here. LOL! They have some good storms in the area.
Good night and sleep well. I’m not far behind ya. Not much sleep the past couple of days and the rain on our tin roof is making my eyelids reeeeeeeal heavy. LOL
See ya tomorrow.

God takes care of his own. The ancient enemies of Israel are falling one by one. Some say that Obama was given to us twice to show us just how bad things could get before he rescued us with Trump. I expect this year to be quite different and exciting.
God Bless America!!!

Gods Face
January 22, 2017
For God . . . made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of Gods glory displayed in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6
Much of my career as a writer has revolved around the problem of pain. I return again and again to the same questions, as if fingering an old wound that never quite heals. I hear from readers of my books, and their anguished stories give human faces to my doubts. I remember a youth pastor calling me after he had learned that his wife and baby daughter were dying of AIDS because of a tainted blood transfusion. How can I talk to my youth group about a loving God? he asked.
I have learned to not even attempt an answer to these why questions. Why did the youth pastors wife happen to get the one tainted bottle of blood? Why does a tornado hit one town and skip over another? Why do prayers for physical healing go unanswered?
One question, however, no longer gnaws at me as it once did: Does God care? I know of only one way to answer that question, and the answer is Jesus. In Jesus, God gave us a face. If you wonder how God feels about the suffering on this groaning planet, look at that face.
Does God care? His Sons death on our behalf, which will ultimately destroy all pain, sorrow, suffering, and death for eternity, answers that question. For God, who said, Let light shine out of darkness, made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of Gods glory displayed in the face of Christ (2 Cor. 4:6).
Gods love for us is as expansive as the open arms of Christ on the cross.

Rules to live by
It is time, once again, to peek at George Washingtons Rules of Civility & Decent Behaviour. Public discourse has become increasingly uncivil and we could all take a page or two from his book and apply it to our own conduct.
Be not immodest in urging your friends to discover a secret. One of the most frightening words you can hear from a friend is, Can I tell you a secret about myself? These words will automatically cause you to stop breathing as you contemplate the possibility that your friend is about to reveal that they have been doing something horrible.
