When Donald Trump is sworn in as the countrys 45th president, outgoing President Barack Obama will be in attendance to witness the peaceful transition of power.
The last time power was transferred, the 2009 inauguration of Obama, the tone turned ugly when then outgoing President, George W. Bush, was introduced to the crowd and was met with loud, sustained booing.
Even liberal MSNBC found the booing of Bush to be distasteful. Commentator Chris Matthews implored attendees, Dont do it, as the chorus of boos started. Bad form here, he continued.
Fellow MSNBC host Rachel Maddow added, That is not what I expected.

Yes, when even slimy, detestable Chris Matthews gets it, it is in poor taste. Take a knee, maybe?

Yes, I remember thinking that if Obama was a statesman, he would have quelled that immediately.
I don’t want the bigot booed; I want to see that fake forgotten. I want him less known than the least famous of Martin Van Buren, William Harrison, John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, and Benjamin Harrison, where elementary school students memorize a list of presidents plus the usurper who occupied our White House during these terrible years, and the only accomplishment anyone can name will be “First Black”.
