The Senate Judiciary Committee is planning to move forward with Sen. Jeff Sessions's (Ala.) attorney general nomination early next week.
Committee staffers announced on Tuesday that the committee will vote on Sessions's nomination to lead the Justice Department on Jan. 24. The move means that Sessions will not get a confirmation vote on "day one" of the Trump administration.SOURCE

Trump’s first choice will be someone who can be confirmed. Judge Roy Brown is not near the top of that list.
Pryor is, but Trump goes for big wins. He knows that once confirmed, a Supreme Court justice cannot be controlled (except for John Roberts on Obamacare). So Trump will pick someone only after vetting, which he has probably been doing without CIA/FBI involvement.
