Noor Salman, Wife of Orlando Shooter Omar Mateen, Arrested

The wife of Orlando nightclub gunman Omar Mateen was arrested by the FBI on Monday in connection with the mass shooting, officials said.

Noor Salman was taken into custody in California, where her family lives, but the case is filed in Florida, where her husband massacred 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in June.

"I can confirm the arrest did occur," Attorney General Loretta Lynch said on MSNBC.

This is a matter that we continue to take very seriously," she said. "We said from the beginning we were going to look at every aspect of this case, every aspect of this shooters life — to determine not just why did he take these actions, but who else knew about them, was anyone else involved, is there any other accountability that needs to be had here in this case."

Details of the charges against Salman were not immediately made public, but law-enforcement sources said they are related to obstruction of justice.

Authorities said early on in the investigation that they were considering filing criminal charges against Salman if it was shown that she knew what her husband was planning and did nothing.

Mateen and Salman exchanged texts during his rampage, after Mateen's mother called her in the middle of the night, asking where he was, a source close to the family told NBC News in June.

Mateen's mother called Salman at around 2 a.m. Sunday, waking her up and asking if she knew where Mateen was.

Salman said she did not know, and texted her husband: "Where are you?" the source said.

After that, Salman tried repeatedly without luck to call Mateen — who pledged allegiance to ISIS during conversations with hostage negotiators before he was killed in a gunfight.

Salman did not speak publicly about the bloodbath until November, when she told the New York Times that she did not know he was planning an attack and that she thought he was out with a friend that night.

She told the newspaper that she met her husband, the son of immigrants from Afghanistan, on an Arab dating site and that six months into their marriage, he began beating her.

She accompanied him to buy ammunition and also took a trip to Orlando with him, but said she did not realize he was making preparations for slaughter.

Last month, Salman applied to change the name of her 3-year-old son with Mateen.

The Orlando massacre is the latest example of how frustratingly inept the Conservative media can too often be when it comes to failing to zero in on the most important angle of an important story.

Neither established Right leaning writers for major publications, nor Conservative talk show hosts, nor prominent Conservative bloggers have stated the obvious regarding the most violent anti-Gay incident in American history.

Ask 20 random fairly informed people if they know the name of the guy who killed Trayvon Martin, and chances are, a good percentage of them will remember the name George Zimmerman, as Zimmerman has received a ton of media coverage. Then ask those same 20 people if they know the name of the guy who murdered 50 people at a Gay nightclub in Orlando, and chances are, the vast majority will not remember the name Omar Mateen.

This is by design. It’s not that the media has never mentioned Mateen’s name. It’s that they have mentioned it as little as they possibly have to.

And more importantly, the movers and shakers of the Gay rights movement have done everything in their power to make sure that a brown skinned Muslim does not become the face of homophobic violence, as they are all a bunch of Marxist agitators, who use the issue of homophobia simply as means of denigrating Capitalist America, White Christians, and traditional Western values. And any act of homophobia that does not help advance that agenda, the Gay rights activists sweep under the rug.

Think about the rage that the Gay rights activists express towards White Christian bakery owners who refuse to bake cakes for Gay weddings. Think about the way they have outed any prominent White person who donated money to anti-same sex marriage initiatives.

Now compare that to the tone of the news coverage of the Orlando massacre, which focused exclusively on a) gun control, b) fear of an Islamophobic back lash, c) candlelight vigils for the victims that were decidedly somber, yet devoid of any anger.

Now imagine what would have happened if the guy who massacred 50 Gays in Orlando was a White, Southern Christian with a name like Jimbo Pierce? Both the media and the Gay rights activists would be repeating the name Jimbo Pierce over and over again.

There would be Gay rallies all over the country featuring celebrities and prominent Democrats giving speeches about how Jimbo Pierce represents everything that’s wrong with White Christian America in general, and the Bible Belt specifically.

But because the murderer was a Muslim, we were instead treated to tweets by Lefty writers like Sally Kohn, warning all believing Christians and Jews not to use Mateen’s religion against him, due to the homophobic elements of Judeo/Christian scripture. Could you ever imaging Kohn warning Muslims, Jews or anyone else not to use Jimbo Pierce’s Evangelical or Baptist faith against him after committing this same atrocity?

The Stonewall riots, which jump started the Gay rights movement, was like a spitball fight compared to the Orlando massacre. The complete absence of rage directed at both Mateen and the homophobia of Radical Islam from both the Gay rights activists and the media is the most palpable example of Left wing double standards that I can think of since all the Feminists stood by Bill Clinton, and dismissed his accusers as trailer trash.

Yet the Consevative media have completely wiffed on this glaring batting practice meatball that could have been knocked out of the park with the greatest of ease.

This is one of many examples of how the Conservative media spends too much time reacting to Left wing hypocrisy by making snarky comments, instead of articulating the ways in which the leaders of the Feminist movement, the Gay rights movement, the Environmental movement, and the Black and Latino whiners movements consistently prove themselves to be phonies, whose only true goal is advancing their Marxist agenda.
