Stuffing the Bureaucracy at the 11th Hour
Center for Immigration Studies ^ | January 5, 2017 | Dan Cadman

Posted on 01/16/2017 9:38:31 AM PST by spintreebob

On December 31, the Washington Post published: "Federal agencies rush to fill job openings before Trump takes office Jan. 20".

this violates an agreement reached between the incoming and outgoing administrations on November 20. It also quotes anonymous sources as confirming that the outgoing administration agreed especially to halt last-minute Senior Executive Service (SES) appointments, but did not necessarily agree to provide a list to the incomers that would make it easier to spot violations of the agreement.

SES appointments are the top of the federal bureaucracy's hierarchical pyramid. They come in two types: political appointments for those at the cabinet and sub-cabinet level, as well as agency heads and the like. But there are also SES appointments of careerists into positions, for instance the deputies and chiefs of staff of agencies, such as those that make up the different organizations of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including those responsible for immigration enforcement and adjudication of immigration benefits and naturalization.

Once upon a time, there was a sharp line drawn between political and career SES types, the latter being technocrats who, while perhaps savvy in the ways of their organizations, avoided politics per se. But, as with the Hatch Act itself, that line has been blurred.

Many of the SES careerists hired during the eight years of the Obama administration were chosen specifically because they share the same world view . I can think of various careerists who occupy very senior positions ... more than willing to carry out many of the constitutionally and statutorily dubious programs of the Obama White House.

It would now appear that the Obama administration is acting in bad faith to try to cram as many ideologically simpatico officials as possible into senior civil service positions

Fire them all.... have the fight in Congress and the Courts. You can’t drain the DC swamp if We The People don’t know where the edges of it are....

The swamp has to be drained. Relocate these newly-created parasites to Alaska if they cannot be eliminated from their jobs. They’ll quit rather than go somewhere full of real Americans. And if not, at least they will be isolated.

Nothing new here for DIMS! Like termites they burrow in and stonewall any attempts at reform! The most effective (though possibly expensive) is to transfer them to totally undesirable locations where they are "Essential"! The vast majority of the time, they will depart on their own, either upon notification or within a year or so!

Of course Obama wants to embed more enemy agents in the government.

The Kenyanesian Usurper has been doing this for eight years.

EVERY agency needs a thorough housecleaning.

Illegally hired? Legally fired...once Trump has the list.

Protecting the swamp.

How apt! Obama will need insiders for information as he continues to fight for Socialism from outside the Oval Office.

Congress should pass a law that keeps just ex. presidents from meddling with or community organizing the incoming administration.

To be hired do they have to sign a promise to cause chaos in the Trump administration?

Careful what you wish for; they might swing Alaska to the blue side of the ledger.

Not illegally hired, and unfortunately in many cases virtually impossible to fire.

There is however a simple solution. Trump may not be able to fire them, but he can control the conditions under which they work. Put them in individual offices with no windows or electronic access to the outside world...no cell phones or other personal electronics...literally assign them to stare at the wall for eight hours a day. Many will quit hopefully...those that don’t won’t be able to engage in any mischief on Obastard’s behalf.

Transferring them to undesirable areas gives them 3 weeks to move or quit. I’m sure there are cold places in Montana, Maine, Idaho - in addition to Alaska. Don’t send more than one to a county. they shouldn’t be disruptive alone.

They wouldn’t make it through one Alaskan winter, except for the very few conservatives among them.

What about the 25% of federal employees who were going to quit if Trump were elected. Best debt reduction plan ever. However, their word is as good as the celebs who were going to flee the country? Trump is going to have to eliminate useless departments and divisions.
