Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago Park District are entranced by the prospect of a gorgeous, challenging golf course on the South Side near the yet-to-be-built Obama Presidential Center. It is a project with star appeal, beginning with Tiger Woods.
But we have to ask: Does a fancy, professional-caliber golf course like this best serve Chicagoans, especially those on the South Side? Or is this about helping President Barack Obama improve his golf game?

A helipad to avoid traffic congestion and the riffraff ?
Maybe a nice dock to accommodate lake service up to Kenilworth?
And of course the dock would have a nice high end dining, and hotel facilities.
I was thinking along the lines of Midnight Golf to keep wayward youts off the street.
Weekend golfers? From what I remember of the place, the preferred local sport is drinking beer and watching the Cubs. :)
A golf course in Alepo would make more sense.
Will Rahm build a wall around it? I hear he’s against walls.
I thought this was the Onion
Will obama’s library be at the 19th tee?
The only golf course in the world where guests are issued mine detectors
Except maybe one at Panmunjom
Coming this year, with the de-policing.... 900 holes in the head.
I would venture that the land is owned by Slum Lord Valerie Jarret. She would have become a billionaire if Chicago got the Olympics. I wonder if HUD would have paid her too.
Mention 18 holes on the South Side of Chicago and the locals think you’re talking about the side of a house or car.
They’ll need to build safe huts on each tee, bulletproof.
“Chicongo needs a golf course like 900 more of its residents need a hole in their head.”
900 holes in head will happen faster than the golf course could be built.
Isnt Chicago effectively bankrupt? How are they going to pay for this?
Has no one thought of all the money that will stick to politicians hands throughout the building and maintenance of the Obama library and golf course?
That and that alone is the only planning behind anything in Chicago.
What can the politicians make out of the deal.
