I’m very thankful Amendment 2 passed here in Florida. I expect the state gov’t to do a deliberate slow crawl righting regs before MMJ can actually be purchased legally from a local dispensary.
Cannabis is serious medicine for many, including myself. Thankfully we will have full legal access to it before the end of the year—I hope!
I wish they would just legalize the use of High CBD-CBN/Low-no THC strains right now. I have been investigating these substances recently for the treatment of my wife and son, and have had very good response. Problem is it is expensive at this time. Local grown would drive that cost way down.

I am all for drug legalization as the alternative has been government tyranny, however, I am also for what you said: Societal pressures to curb its use. No driver’s license, no pilot’s license, no professional licenses of any sort. None. No government jobs, either. We deserve people without altered minds or mental states spending our tax monies; no teaching, elected offices, nothing.

Where are you going to find them? I personally know very few people who haven't succumbed to the lure of meds for everything.

Hell, half the bottles even say “do not operate heavy machinery”, of which an automobile certainly is one.

I never said they weren’t. The fact is about 15 million are on psychotropic drugs, not 1 in 3. I know, exaggeration for effect, but I also agree with you. Pharma has created zombies. Children as young as 3 getting drugged to be calm, etc.
I am all for the same standards for pot being applied to ALL drugs; hence, the War on Some Drugs title I like to use.

Exactly. I can’t possibly count the number of alcoholics that have destroyed companies from within, yet, they are given a pass. I know military officers that have multiple DUIs.
And it would be tough to remove them from positions that might be impacted by their addiction, now that it's ingrained. That's not a reason to encourage even more use of mind-altering substances, which will make it even more difficult to solve the problems we already face.
We are talking about Prescription medication. Under your scenario there would be no workers available. Cops not on anti anxiety meds?? Anyone on Prozac? Anyone on Ritalin? Anyone that has more than one Martini? Really?
We are not talking recreational drugs.
Florida’s Amendment 2 has some strict requirements for patients to gain access. (Seizure control and terminally ill.) Hopefully that will heavily regulate the dispensaries and doctors that prescribe will be held accountable for their scripts.
Considering the measure passed 71%-29%, it's probably 1 or 2 elections away.
