U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power urged the Trump administration on Friday not to cut funding to the United Nations, warning that this would be detrimental to U.S. interests and benefit countries like China and Russia.
“We lead the world, in part, by leading at the United Nations,” Power stressed at her final press conference before leaving the U.S. Mission on Jan. 20 when Barack Obama’s presidency ends and Donald Trump is inaugurated as president.
Supporters of Israel in the U.S. Congress have introduced a number of bills to cut off U.N. funding to protest Obama’s decision to allow the adoption of a Security Council resolution in December condemning Israel’s construction of settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, which the Palestinians want for their future state.
The United States pays 22 percent of the U.N.’s regular operating budget and 25 percent of the budget for its 16 far-flung peacekeeping missions where over 100,000 troops and police are deployed. …

I don’t think he’d turn down a resource that already exists, if he can conceive of some clever way of actually increasing US stature in the world. Which isn’t by means of bowing down to the lefty agenda du jour, to be sure.
I am also not sure there is one single budget item called “UN funding” either, but rather a cluster of possible investment areas. Donald will look at this with a businessman’s eye rather than a politician’s eye, and might actually come up with a better way to use the UN.

The US was even better off with respect to the world when the UN first got under way.
There was no absolute reason that this didn’t have to be the vehicle of a Pax Americana. Weak souls who bowed to globalism got us into our current rut. But now Donald is getting ready to overturn the tables of the money changers, so to speak.
Face it, the US is in a position to actually lead, and should.
The gospel, if robustly accepted, gets it into such a position before God.
The US picks up 22% of the UN's operating costs and 27% of the peacekeeping costs. China pays 5.2% and Russia 2.4% of the operating costs. Uncle Sap is leading the world because we are picking up the tab.
The UN is a useless parasite to the United States, as are you Samantha.

Even with the total repudiation for everything they’ve done and tried to do, they still don’t get it. They still don’t understand that no one cares what they say or think. No one thinks they have a clue. Because if they did, then clinton would be getting inaugurated in a few days and not Trump.
