When she opened her pie hole

We the People said Phew!!

I thought art was about being a nonconformist. Indulging in hackneyed left wing agitprop is the height of conformity.

LOL! Percy and the Kingston trio was hilarious. Ernie Kovacs was WAY ahead of his time.

Maybe the Nairobi Trio will play at the inaugural?

They'll be at the Obama " pardon party"

"Those of us who use words professionally have a certain stake in the truth," he said.

ROFL! He actually went there! :)

Perhaps the AP can provide some examples of Trump attacking poets, to justify their use of the phrase “fighting back.”

the celebrated black poet Gwendolyn Brooks, Walt Whitman

I'd rather hear from the celebrated chemist, Walter White.

“”Those of us who use words professionally have a certain stake in the truth,” he said. “It’s hard to think of anything more important. In the long run, lies and fabrications wither away, but the truth endures forever.””

Stupid untrue words.

There once was a young butt-hurt poet
Who wanted the whole world to know it.
His spirits did slump
Because, well, Donald Trump.
The little jackass should just stow it.

Save yourself the blather in most of the article -- the most amusing quotes are at the very end:

Michael Ansara, founder of the group Mass Poetry , which promotes poetry in Massachusetts, said interest in the genre has surged nationally since the election. Internet searches of poetry are up 20 percent to 30 percent, he said.

Uh, yeah. I've noticed that too. Once Trump was elected, I immediately started doing internet searches for poetry.

"I can't just sit here and watch Netflix for the next four years and disappear into various costumed dramas," said Belieu, the "Writers Resist" organizer.

LOL. Why should the next four years be any different from what she's been doing for the past 8 or 10 years?

>>”Our country was founded on brilliant writing,” said Erin Belieu, an award-winning poet who runs the creative writing program at Florida State University. <<

IOW, “continue to pay me to do nothing but crank out twaddle and tripe.”

These unproductive people are leeches.

Any first grader can rhyme - cat, hat, mat, bat, pat.

Yank all tax dollars from “the arts”, immediately.

I will fight their words with an image.

Imagine me sitting in a recliner sipping a Jack and Coke with one hand while holding the other hand in front of me, knuckles out, with the middle finger extended.

Now for the pop quiz: what rhymes with “Go duck your shelves”?

I care about this about as much as I care that U2 didn’t release their album, or something of the sort.

Poets and other progressives, you see,
Upon Trump’s big win, their panties they pee.
Their rage and their whining, their agony raw,
Will peak when O’Care’s repeal becomes law!
