Speaking at his confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Tillerson said the resolution was “not helpful” and “undermines” the conditions for peace talks to continue, reported The Washington Post.

The former ExxonMobil chief also described Secretary of State John Kerry’s subsequent speech criticizing Israel as “quite troubling.” …

Your posted headline is inaccurate. From the article, Tillerson stated that “Israel is our most important ally IN THE MIDDLE EAST.” That’s a wholly different position from what your headline conveys. Your post almost qualifies as FAKE NEWS.

No, the headline to the article is Israel is our most important ally. Get it right.

On the current list of the powerful, Rex Tillerson, Exxon CEO, is listed as 24. Barack Obama was moved down to 48, just ahead of the Saudi Oil mininster

Number 1 is Vladimir Putin. Number 2 is President Elect Donald Trump

OK, so the original headline posted was inaccurate. Still, it conveys an untruth not supported by the article content that makes it borderline FAKE NEWS.

The original headline was accurate.

The comment quoted in the article added “in the Middle East.”

OK? See? It’s not that hard to be accurate.

You still don’t get it. The headline of the quote left out the Middle East part. Then they included it in the article. So the headline was intentionally inaccurate and intended to impute a position to Tillerson that he does not hold. Do you understand? It was FAKE NEWS.

You;re splitting hairs. Had the article not more definitively clarified that Israel was the most important ally in that region of the world then it could be classified as fake news. Headlines are meant to grab attention. Is any ally really more important than another anyway? With Israel being among those allies who are most important to the U.S., it’s technically correct. I’m not sure that we can with any degree of confidence define our allies in a hierarchical order. As they all constantly trading places based upon situations cropping up around the globe, and their reactions to them, as our most important at any given moment.

It’s not my headline. AP can be on the record saying what they want, but their intent is another thing; certainly by misparaphrasing, they are going to stir up their antisemitic readership.
