When Meryl Streep’s in California or New York the majority of people agree with her.
When she’s in ANY OF THE OTHER STATES most of the people she’ll run into don’t agree with her - - and probably don’t like her either.

They have old timey stars with actual talent and NO enhancements to their appearance.
It seems that newer films rely on special effects and shock value to take the place of talent and entertainment. NOT
I especially dislike newer films that purport to be historical accounts... then proceed to deviate widely from the facts. Since I have read so much history, it's always depressing to see what the ‘entertainment industry’ does with the historic record.

Meryl was so greedy for publicity that she made her anti-Trump statement to grab ALL of the post show publicity. She had to know that everyone would be talking about HER and nothing else.

Agreed - the ONLY films I watch are Film Noir, Westerns, and other films old films available on youtube.
Me, too. I love watching the old black and white movies from the 30’s and 40’s. I watched two with Cary Grant and Irene Dunne the same day as the Golden Globes was on. I thought, and my husband commented, that we were watching people with real talent.
We’ve tried to go to more recent movies this past year, and I’ve tried to watch some on Netflix and Amazon, but they just leave me “meh”. I’ve given up and gone back to my DVD/VHS collection.

How does a talented and intuitive actress like Streep not see the irony of her actions? The glittering elite crowd that promotes porn and violence and measures women by their...well, lets say “golden globes, were gagging with adoration and approval while mother Meryl lectures and scolds us. So many layers of irony, its like hands drawing hands.
The only “golden globes” there were actresses displaying their fake boobs. They are trained monkeys chained to an organ grinder for my entertainment. Amuse me and shut up.
