BREAKING NEWS: Republican congressman John Rutherford collapses after suffering a 'massive heart attack' during House vote Republican congressman John Rutherford has collapsed during a vote in the House. The newly sworn-in representative from Florida suffered a 'medical emergency' during a vote on Wednesday, reports suggest His condition is not known. According to The Hill, he was receiving oxygen through a mask when he was wheeled to an ambulance. Rutherford is a former sheriff from Jacksonville, Florida. He was elected to Congress in November, succeeding Republican Ander Crenshaw, who retired after eight terms. More to follow.

Prayers for his health. He was just sworn in to his freshman term on January 3, 2017, a little over a week ago.

"He did not suffer a heart attack, but he continues to be evaluated by doctors. A further update on the Congressman's condition will be provided once doctors have finished their evaluation. The Rutherford family appreciates the prayers, thoughts, and support they have received this evening," said Kelly Simpson, Rutherford's chief of staff.
Apparently I wasn’t having one even though I thought it felt like it.
My blood chemistry and X-rays came back excellent, since I have a weight problem that I work at.
My condition involved something about excessive PVCs.
I turned in my 24 monitor on Tuesday.
Glad that all really is well. They were probably too dismissive of my mom because she was youngish, close to normal weight and female. Plus she went to her regular provider, not the ER. Also, at that time her provider was a nurse practitioner. Never again!

I see an NP who has done very well by me these past few years.
There are 4 MDs in the practice as well. Getting an 2nd opinion hasn’t been too tough what times I needed it.

Her cardiologist made her switch from an NP to an MD. This was part of the Mayo health system, her NP messed up big time.

Rutherford’s chief of staff, Kelly Simpson, said:
“Congressman Rutherford is recuperating at a local hospital on his way to a full and swift recovery. On Wednesday evening, Congressman Rutherford experienced significant discomfort while just outside the House Chamber. Mr. Rutherford received medical attention and treatment in the Capitol before being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
After ruling out more serious concerns, testing showed that he is experiencing an acute digestive flare up that is generating the discomfort. He did not suffer a heart attack as widely reported. In fact, doctors are happy to report that all of his vitals look great. While he will briefly remain in the hospital to treat the inflammation, the Congressman’s care providers expect that he will be back to full strength in little time.
John and his family are so grateful for the outpouring of prayers and support from friends and neighbors in Northeast Florida and colleagues here in Washington, and they salute the physicians, EMTs, and staff for their exceptional response.”
