JERUSALEM – President Barack Obama on Monday denied betraying Israel by not using the U.S. veto against an anti-settlement resolution at the United Nations Security Council last month.
Obama said it was his duty as president “to do what I think is right,” according to an interview he gave on Israeli television.
“I did believe it was important to send a signal and to lift up the facts that so often get buried under other news in terms of what is happening with settlements in the West Bank,” he said. “The fact of the matter is that I’m president until January 20, and I have an obligation to do what I think is right.”
Channel 2’s interviewer, Ilana Dayan, asked the president what his reaction was to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s declaration that the measure was “shameful” and that Obama had initiated the resolution himself. Did he understand Israel’s “sense of betrayal?”

We, he did “do what he thinks is right” by his friends. Those ‘friends’ don’t include Israel.
The surprisingly good news being discussed as a local(ish) issue in DC today (beyond the whole Trump buzzfeed BS) is that the suburban MD Jewish country club is divided over whether to allow Obama membership (and waiting its $80K +/-) admission fee.
One could readily bed that 80-90% of its membership voted for Obama in ‘08 and ‘12. Now they’re not so sure. The fact that ANY of its members are in favor of letting him join just speaks to the far left members who are more committed to their ideology than to Israel.
Trump knows how to build housing, he should offer to help build some of the housing that Bibi has deferred, stalled building (trying to please Obama). Israel has a terrible housing shortage now, especially young folks trying to get settled into life.....Obama has done SO DAMNED MUCH DAMAGE not only to Israel but also to Egypt, Syria (half a million needless deaths since Obama started the war against Syria), Libya (illegal bombing and he put the worst Moslem Brotherhood terrorist gangster in charge, just like he did earlier in Egypt and just like he wants to do in Syria...and also to Israel., alas)

I will miss Obama because whatever he says, on any subject, is 180 degrees from the truth. Briefly glancing at Obama statements/positions/headlines enables one to quickly form a righteous and intelligent opinion - simply by advocating/supporting the opposite of any Obama position.
Now that he is OUTTA HERE, actual engagement and thinking may be needed.
It cannot do any more harm than Obama’s unwavering support for terrorists.

Oh please. For one thing I've no reason to think Trump's support for Netanyahu or Israel is unwavering. I do know Obama hates both, and not only deployed personal political operatives to oppose Netanyahu in Israel's recent election, but expended State Department funding in the effort.
"Peace", as in land for peace which has been Israel's policy is dead. Obama's resolution sets the borders at the 1949 truce lines, anything beyond that is "illegal", based on what, who knows. Obama's and Europe's opinion, I guess. Forget Abbas, no Palestinian leader in the near future will be able to settle for anything less than that. Add in authorization for boycotts of Israel, potentially very damaging. And the straw man that it's only those business' with connections to Judea and Samaria, virtually all Israeli business' have such connections. As do companies like Intel (3rd largest employer in Israel), Apple, Motorola, IBM, Google, Microsoft et al. I only mentioned tech companies, I'm sure the boycotters will divest themselves from computers, wireless communication, cellular, even their video games. Then there's medical tech and biotech.
