Ten days before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office, San Jose elected leaders today will discuss sweeping measures to protect the city’s undocumented residents from deportation under the Trump administration.
The plan, proposed by Mayor Sam Liccardo and backed by council members Raul Peralez, Sergio Jimenez, Magdalena Carrasco and Sylvia Arenas, suggests working with school districts to provide education and “safety plans” and allowing churches to provide sanctuary for immigrants.

I have one question. How soon after January 20th can Trump starting cutting off all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities?
Please don’t tell me not until the 2018 budget.
I hope sooner than later. And that the GOP doesn’t go wobbly on this campaign promise.

The guys at Classic Car wash or the ones standing in front of Home Depot will be there next year.

Pack the city council up, deport them, and let them defend from the nation of their choice.
Sue each of the members of this City Council personally for any harm coming to a San Jose citizen because of the Council’s Liberal Insanity.
Immigrants don’t need protection.
Immigrants are people who applied in their home country to be Americans, paid their fees, learned the language, waited their turn and complied with the laws.
Illegal aliens should not be protected from the laws of this country which they have ignored.
Anyone aiding and abetting illegal aliens should be charged, it is criminal.
I hope not.
We should not wait until they get drunk and drive and kill Americans before we deport them.
Starting with the criminals makes sense, but we should not be satisfied with that.

Novel idea: Protect illegal aliens from Trump by sending them home NOW. That way they don’t risk arrest, jail, and deporting.
Trump should announce that all illegal aliens will be hunted down and deported UNLESS they live in “sanctuary cities” like San Jose.
When they are completely overrun by illegal aliens, maybe they will change their minds. If not, then fence them off.

If we were serious, we’d pass laws requiring a mandatory minimum sentence of five hundred years.
It’s gonna be fun when the federal funds get cut off.
All illegals should be deported, convicted felons or not. I do not care what they do, where they are from, how long they have been here, if they have had kids here, whatever. They are here illegally and should leave now or be deported. Zero amnesty. Zero tolerance.
Discussions about protecting Trump supporters from violent attacks were not on the table, unfortunately.
Sorry, but illegal is illegal. They've got to go. If Trump does not fully enforce our immigration laws to the letter, the country is lost.
Trump must cut off ALL FEDERAL funding to communities that refuse to follow the nations LAWS and refuse to cooperate with Federal Law Enforcement agencies.
I would guess that he probably could get that done by 1 pm Eastern, although that’s too much to hope for.
I hope, and sort of expect, he will be rescinding Obama’s unconstitutional executive orders (or whatever Obama tried to hide them under) about then, and also ordering troops to the border.

LOL, no they won’t, and I’m willing to make a friendly wager on it.
They’ll be gone by spring at the latest.
Smart ones will be gone by February.
