Not everyone in Hollywood is a fan of Meryl Streep.
Streep is now facing backlash from those in the entertainment industry who feel her anti-Trump speech at Sunday night's Golden Globes was "hypocritical" and out-of-line for a Hollywood star.
Country star Travis Tritt took to Twitter to offer his "advice to all actors."
"Advice to all actors, musicians and entertainers: Please stick to your crafts that we all love you for and drop the political rhetoric," he tweeted.

Piers Morgan echoed Tritt's words, adding he hasn't "heard such elitist snobbery since Hillary Clinton branded Trump supporters 'a basket of deplorables.'"

Whoa!!!!! I’m about to take back YEARS of nasty comments about Piers Morgan!! He butterflied, filleted, and ROASTED Meryl. That was wonderful. When he got to the end, showing her LEAPING to her feet to give a standing ovation to Roman Polanski, that was like winning creme brûlée every night for life!! I was that girl he raped, basically (not literally but damnnnnn close). I guess Meryl doesn’t care for the truly defenseless and drugging and raping them in the Hollywood hills was ok because Art.

Exactly. Many of us literally cannot be whom we are. Including in Meryl’s disgusting industry. I can’t show I’m a Trump supporter without my kids being punished socially. And you can’t drive up to a Hollywood studio or entertainment job with your Trump bumpersticker or even dare share your views. And she and her Beverly Hilton ballroom full of exact likemindeds (with two exceptions, Messrs. Vaughn and Gibson) think THEY are the victims?
You are right. If Streep had gone on this rant right after filming Deerhunter, that would have been her last movie. She knew it was wrong back THEN.
I tuned in to be entertained, not to hear a political lecture from some actress who probably did more harm than any good.....disgusting.

We own a lot of her movies (haven’t had TV since 1997, so we see a lot of DVD’s and Blue Rays). She’s really not appealing to us any more. Kinda like what happened to Streisand with us a couple of decades ago. Her politics ruined her movies for us.

They don’t GET that THEY enjoy a version and extent of ‘free speech’ which is available only TO people who are in entertainment and have direct and immediate access to media attention and public notice. Never mind that intellectually, THEY have nothing to recommend them or their views to any kind of favored status....
The patently unethical and unfair dynamic about this arrangement escapes them.
Morgan endorsed Trump; except for his gun views, he hasn’t been too bad, especially over the last year.
No one sees how anyone votes. Lots of people who would/could not openly support Trump went into the secrecy of the voting booth and pulled the lever for him.
