I don’t think they will even cut funding, not in the Congress. They’ll fake it for a while, as they are with Obamacare, nibble at the edges, call it good and hurry on.

I think we should remain in the UN, but subvert its ability to function by vetoing everything and making clear that its resolutions hold no sway over us, nor have the force of “international law”. Make clear that any nation that tries to invoke the UN against our interests will face our strong disfavor. Trump doesn’t need Congress for any of those things.
Congress could do its part by cutting off all funding, but I’m not holding my breath for that.

The UN will still have enough money to function without ours thrown in. Apart from that, I don’t think the UN has a membership fee.
It does, though it can waive it. But going back to the original question, why would we stay if we cut off our funding to it?
