George Clooney didn’t vote for Donald Trump and doesn’t think he’s the right choice to run the United States.
But he hopes Trump succeeds in office, because “when the president of the United States fails, really terrible things happen.”
Clooney is one of the most politically outspoken actors in Hollywood, and he defended fellow star Meryl Streep on Monday after the president-elect slammed her for comments at the Golden Globe Awards.
Trump tweeted that Streep is “overrated” and a “flunky” of Hillary Clinton.
Clooney said that “I support her right forever” to speak out.
At reception in London for Syria rescue-workers documentary “The White Helmets,” the actor said he has been active in politics since he was 12 — and has no intention of stopping just because he is famous.

Anyway, he doesn’t live there anymore. They completed extensive upgrades on his new home in Great Britain, in the house he bought for his wife.That’s where he lives now.
I do wish PE Donald Trump would refrain from the insulting remarks he makes. Meryl Streep is an excellent actress.
The PEOTUS should have merely stated that as an actress she is no more knowledgeable than any average American citizen. She is free to say what she will, but no one ought to take her political advice seriously. Streep should have kept her mouth shut.
Apparently Hollywood types, singers, and other entertainment folks are not adult enough to comprehend that the people have voted and antagonizing the electorate does not endear them to their audience.
