Fake news. It was the term enthusiastically embraced by the mainstream media in the wake of the general election as an excuse to explain why Hillary Clinton lost. Unfortunately, that same term quickly boomeranged on them since skeptics pointed out that the MSM has used massive doses of fake news over the years to promote liberal causes including Hillary's career. And now that the "fake news" term has turned toxic for the left, they want to drop it entirely.
Case in point is Sunday's complaint by Washington Post media columnist Margaret Sullivan. She is so upset that the term is being used to point out the fake news promulgated by the MSM that she now wants to scrap the term as she explains in her column title: It’s time to retire the tainted term ‘fake news’.

This is what the left does — they ram through changes in vocabulary whenever people catch on that the current terminology makes the Left look bad.
I don’t blame them.
If we’re labeling fake news, the W.P. will suffer as much as anyone else, and more than 95% of them.

Ha, instead of “the left” now, I call them all the ‘Alt Left’ and label just about everything they say and write as ‘fake news’ and it works for me, since they own a large majority of the media, they are the most bothered and affected by it.
Finally, the concept of “projection” bites them. They always accuse us of doing the bad stuff that is really being done by them. They accused us of Fake News. Now the public catches on and recognizes that the accusers were the real perpetrators.

Fake News is only eight letters and in this case its a much better term.
Because they just make stuff up about everything even when there is no politics involved.
Let them be mocked and castigated until they are unviable not just as a political tool but as an institution. They embraced the principle of personal destruction, now let them experience it.
The MSM lost credibility with the average American when during the election campaign its news coverage was so obviously biased and pro Clinton. The people no longer trust what they say or fail to say.
