Cause trust me, be it straight Medicare, a Medicare Advantage plan, or private insurance, it’s all very similar. The medicos charge and they got their sneaky ways.

I ended up in ER once with chest pain. I was there 3 hours before they determined I had a thoracic chest wall injury.
I got the bill. I reviewed it and saw that I was charged for 14 IVs and “IV” sets.
I had only one IV placed in my arm and one IV bag of 500 ml Ringer’s Lactate. The IV was taken out, an hour after I got there.
I called my insurer at the time ( Blue Cross/Blue Shield) and they could not have cared less.
Hospitals pad their bills. I suggest you all review these bills. Read them and dispute what you see, if it is not correct.
