R.I.P. to the many procedural efforts to stop Donald Trump
Washington Post ^ | Jan. 6, 2017 | Aaron Blake

Posted on 01/07/2017 8:47:12 PM PST by Innovative

Donald Trump is now the real, official, actual, no-more-doubt-about-it president-elect of the United States, after Congress certified the results of the electoral college Friday.

Not for lack of Democrats' efforts, mind you. House Democrats objected to 10 states' electoral votes being awarded to Trump, but none of them were able to get a senator to join in their objection, as required. Hence, a quixotic effort failed.

Again.

All along Trump's path to the White House, nearly every political process has featured some kind of effort to thwart him by manipulating the rules and otherwise Doing Whatever It Took to stop him. With the last of those efforts failing, we thought it worth a retrospective. Get ready for a trip down memory lane.

Burn the Left to the ground and salt their hovels.

Exactly. We should never forget that we are in a war of survival against a worldwide organization of Marxist-inspired, anti-American globalists who are fanatically committed to the destruction of our Constitutional Republic.

And also, disrupting his rallies, attacking supporters outside his rallies, interference by Mexican officials, threats to leave the country by celebrities, Jeb, interference by EU officials and of course direct interference by Obama every step of the way.

It’s what they were expecting to do to us until karma caught up with them. In my lifetime, they have literally tried several times. God keeps rescuing us.

Karma is a double bladed bi--h with a really really really bad attitude. Do not mess with bad karma.

Your thoughts aren’t so farfetched. There are comments at the WaPo (they are raving over there, quite entertaining to read the comments if you have time to waste) suggesting a national registry for all Trump voters. Others suggesting rogue CIA agents take him out or Putin give Flynn the order to take out Trump.

They really have lost it.

Biden acted like he was genuinely annoyed by that old bat Maxine Waters at the E C count yesterday.

Actually, a realistic, worthwhile analysis story by the Compost. I am surprised.”

Maybe at this point Bezos has come to his senses and realizes that deplorables have a few bux to spend on Amazon.

The Americans in the Mid-west used their power to give victory to Trump and defeat to educators, politicians, journalists, movie starts, and pop stars. The Washing Post has led the war against Trump since 2015. Aaron Blake, write for the Post, has no moral power and cannot influence anyone.

Mr. Grey Whiskers from Free Republic wrote the details of Trump’s victory with a masterpiece of writing, analysis and theory.

Wrong attitude. Burn the Left to the ground and salt their hovels.

EVERYTHING you’ve stated can also be attributed to the Republicans. Both the RATs and the RINOs pulled out all the stops to try and derail Donald Trump, and some of them on both sides of the aisle will continue, for awhile. Then, when Trump bludgeons them with incoming Tweets, they will fold. In the 2018 Senate election, there will be 25 RATs and 8 Mostly RINOs up for re-election. We can kill two birds with one stone if we off both groups. Surely we can at least get rid of Hatch, Corker, Heller, Flake and Cruz!

I am amazed that I am reading this from the Washington Post.

Perhaps Bezos the Clown, owner of Amazon and the Washington ComPost doesn't want to bait the bear anymore and find out he has a stump where his chicken-wing arm used to be.

That bald little twist's monopolist empire is ripe to be split up under federal law. I wonder if using the Amazon Prime shipping membership underwrite his on-demand streaming content service is drawing federal antitrust sharks like blood in the water.

Peak Trump. Finally the Washington Post is right. I assume that President Trump will now quit because he doesn’t really want the job. Either that or he will be impeached over the high crimes and misdemeanors of wrongful twitter and offending delicate snowflakes, a far worse offense than the little felonies liberals celebrate, like perjury (Bill Clinton) or treason (Barack Hussein).

"I assume they are not done. I expect they will call on the chief justice to refuse to swear Trump in."

I assume that it will never be done! As was the case with Bush 43, they will still be going at it 16 years after Trump is sworn in.
