His entire life has revolved around the color of his own skin. The white mother/African father governed every aspect of hid relationships and life’s journey - mother, grandparents, stepfather et al. When it suited him to be black - he was. When it was helpful to be Muslim - he was. When it was an asset to be Indonesian - he used it. When it was an asset to be an American citizen - he took it.
