The pic was courtesy of an article Kathy sent this afternoon about the fog in Anchorage. It’s left everything covered in layers of frostiness but that regal eagle seems to take it in stride.
The pic was so pretty I just HAD to snag it. :-)
We certainly aren’t enjoying the frigid temps and are still wondering how much snow we’ll get. The swath that will roll over us keeps expanding as it moves eastward. Should start snowing here around the time I get ready to go to bed in the morning.
The problem with snow in the south is it melts a little and has a glaze of ice. Doesn’t help they put salt on the roads which makes snow melt. There was hardly any snow up around Nashville tonight but there were wrecks galore due to the icy roads. If they’d put sand down instead, it wouldn’t be nearly as bad.
But they don’t and that’s why my hiney is parked at home until Monday when the stuff melts. LOL
How was your day? Is your friend’s eye improving enough to be able to see yet?
Hope y’all don’t get the brunt of the storm, but you’re smart to just stay put! It’s 24 degrees here with a windchill making it feel like 11 degrees. WAY colder than I thought it would get! The cats won’t budge from my bed. LOL!
She had the patch taken off her eye and said she can see now, which is good news! They went home after we had lunch. I know they are both glad to be there instead of here. They have 3 doggies that they were missing. He’ll be back this weekend, of course, because he’s our preacher and travels that 120 mile trip [one-way] every weekend and has for 17 years. He likes us. :) And he’s an awesome preacher/teacher!

YIKES! It’s colder there than it is here but we’ll get it tomorrow. It’s 30 now but will drop to the low 20s by morning and won’t warm up bit a degree or two. They say some of us could have single-digit lows tomorrow night and Sat. night. OUCH!
It looks like that mess is headed straight for us rather than dipping a little further south. Oh well, if it’s gonna snow, it might as well hit us enough for some pretty pix. :-)
Great that she can see now. I didn’t know how long it would be before they’d let her take the patch off. Yes, I’d say they’re quite happy to be back home again with their pooches. Hard for any of us to be away from our furry buddies, isn’t it?
We have no precipitation in our forecast; just cold for a couple of days and then back in the 60s. Can’t keep the desert down long. LOL! Hope that you guys don’t get really wicked weather, but a bit of pretty snow that melts after a couple of days is kind of nice. Once a year.
I know one thing...these kittehs of mine won’t go near the door tonight! Ginger thought she wanted out till I opened the door a bit and she felt the blustery bitter wind.Nope...not happenin’!
She has some pain from the surgery, but she was having pain from the eye pressure being up so high, so I guess it’s a trade off. She has an excellent doctor!

Yeah, the TX panhandle’s getting a dose but you’re free and clear of any snow. And it looks like it’ll track a bit more north than they predicted. A direct hit for us. We’ll be below freezing all weekend but in the upper 40s Monday so it’ll be gone then. 50s Tues. and Wed. and they SAY 60s for Thurs. Pretty typical for TN weather. LOL
Can’t blame your cats for not wanting to go out tonight. Their coats probably aren’t very thick since it’s been so warm. I just hope they let you get some sleep tonight!
She’ll have a little pain for a bit but it probably isn’t much worse, if even as bad, as before the surgery. She’ll be good as new before y’all know it. Just glad things are going as well as they are now. I do hope that’s the end of eye surgeries for her.
Yikes! Right now they’re saying it’s 19 and feels like 3! I’m glad I’m not needing to get out for anything.
No...their coats aren’t as thick as they would be if the weather had been more consistent. I’m happy to have them in....and I guess I’ll just have to deal with them. I leave the bedroom door cracked open so they can come and go. Otherwise if Peaches gets closed out, he tries to dig under. it’s not good for the carpet! LOL!
I look forward to seeing any pretty snow pictures you can take. I’m really glad it’s not snowing here. After watching Jackson’s snow, I’m over it. Speaking of cold! It’s -10 there and feels like -23.

Yeow! Your temps are dropping like a stone, aren’t they? We’re still at 30 and that’s plenty cold. The wind isn’t blowing hard but there’s enough of a breeze to feel the difference in the house. It makes it chilly in here when there’s a wind but that’s what happens in old houses. I just add another layer of clothing when it’s like this.
Yep, carpet’s no match for kitteh claws. Just too bad he digs at it and you have to leave the door open. It IS nice to be able to get some sleep at night! :-)
I have no idea how hard it’s snowing within that swath but hope there’ll be enough for some pretty pix. I wish it was here now so there’d be enough snow for decent night pix. I prefer those to daytime pix because there’s no background clutter.
I hope it doesn’t snow much in northern GA because it’s about time for egg #2 to arrive. I’ve been keeping an eye on the nest tonight just in case. So far, there’s still just the one.
