US Sends Special Forces To RUSSIAN BORDER As Nato Is Poised To Strike

Russia is reportedly deploying nuke-ready missiles in the province of Kaliningrad which borders Lithuania

PRESIDENT Obama has deployed US special forces troops along Lithuania’s border with “aggressive” Russia.

Tensions between Washington and the Kremlin have reached Cold War levels amid reports Vladimir Putin is deploying nuke-ready missiles in the Russian province of Kaliningrad – which borders Poland, Belarus and Lithuania.

And Lithuanian Defence Ministry spokeswoman Asta Galdikaite confirmed America has offered additional military support following Russia’s annexation of Crimea.

She said: “The United States was the first to offer additional safety assurance measures to the Baltic countries following the deterioration of the security situation in the region after the annexation of the Crimea.”

She added: “US Special Operations Forces presence in Lithuania is one of the deterrents” against military threats by Putin’s aggressive regime, reports the Express.

US military chief General Raymond T Thomas told the New York Times that America has a “persistent” presence in the Baltic states bordering Russia.

He added that many former Eastern Bloc countries are “scared to death” of Russia and the vulnerable states are “desperate” for America’s leadership.

The US and its Nato allies will send battalions of up to 1,200 to each of the three Baltic states – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – and Poland by spring this year, reports the New York Times.

Lithuania’s foreign minister Linas Linkevicius confirmed Russia’s military activity in Kaliningrad is terrifying the region.

He said: “Iskander missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads have been deployed. There are S-400 missiles and modernised jets.”

“Putin has made no secret of his desire to reassemble a non-communist Greater Russia that looks geographically a lot like the old Soviet Union.”

If Putin wants a non-communist Greater Russia, he should let capitalism exist in Russia.

Once upon a time, the Bundeswehr, the BAOR, and for that matter USAEUR were serious forces.

Today, not so much, any of them. BAOR is gone completely.

A whole lot of why we had to deal with such fubar ROE lately is because our “allies” have all signed the additional protocols.

Either we bend the knee and comply with those, or tell our “allies” to stay home and out of the way, otherwise, our “allies” risk legal jeopardy if they actually try to fight to win.

Our “allies” in every measurable way are a detriment to ourselves, militarily.

Not sure how a carrier group helps in northern Europe. There is still a carrier group forward deployed in Japan. Bremerton, Washington, and Norfolk, Virginia, wouldn’t seem especially vulnerable. Terrorism is always a threat with feckless Obama policy.

Hussein may just get his craved for War. If he launches against Russian forces in the Baltic or against Russian bases in Syria, Putin is forced to react militarily, whatever his tacit understanding with Trump. Then after 20 Jan can Trump suck up the casualties and the destruction that US forces will take, even in a “successful operation” and call it all off? I pray that our Obama supplied generals and admirals think to their own futures with an incoming Trump and sit on their hands. Perhaps that is already happening.

Kim Jong Il, Kamenei, Barak Hussein Soetoro. We have much to fear from the insane leaders that rule some third world dictatorships.

I’ve read elsewhere that this was a well known NATO exercise planned months ago.

The POTUS is now a clear and present danger to the country. Somehow Trump and Congress need to telegraph to Putin that they do not, nor do the American people want war.

He is a freaking maniac. I could never understand why so many voters thought Trump would bring them to war.

I totally agree. He is no angel. The hypocrisy here is that Russia has been a threat to Lithuania for many years now, and Obama chooses now, 16 days out of his forced retirement, to take action? I think we should stand by the Baltic states and Eastern Europe to the best of our capabilities and within reason years to come, but not provoke hostilities for domestic political reasons.

We are calling wolf when there is no wolf and thereby undermining US credibility in the world.

>>Isn’t starting a war unnecessarily considered treason?

Itś considered a war crime. That´s what they were hanging Nazis for immediately after WW-II.

Wicked webs we weave. For the RINOs, it most definitely is about Aleppo. McCain wants to see Assad ousted so bad he is giving lip service to the hacking nonsense.

Hawaii is one of the 50 states. Annex? Montana is a province? Is this parody?

Crimea was part of Russia for 500 years. They simply took what was thiers. Kruchev “gave” the Crimea to the Ukraine when the Ukraine was in the Soviet orbit so it did not matter. Then 10 years ago or so the c I a toppled the democratic pro Russian ukraiIan govt to encircle Russia and breed chaos.

The Russian hordes are far smaller these days. Brigade sized units are most common and their logistics are somewhat Third World. Still you are right that a couple of A Teams, a Ranger company and maybe a SEAL team are unlikely to do more than die bravely if push comes to shove. I think Barky has actually lost his mind as he contemplates being out of power. And I think some similar stuff would be happening even if the Beast had won on Nov 8.
