I know gay couples who have been together for years, they are conservative and I love them. I don’t judge people by their race, religion or who they sleep with. I judge them by their deeds and their character.

Calling your gay spouse a "husband" is a heteronormative thought crime, as it attempts to recreate traditional (and we know how libs hate "traditional" anything) heterosexual roles within a non heterosexual relationship.
