Have you ever seen the buzzards fly in a group and they fly in a tornado formation? That is the weirdest thing!

We see that here, too. As many as 40 birds will roost in one big ol' cottonwood tree on Old Post, and when they take off for the morning they rise out of the tree like a huge cloud. I think the tornado formation is due to rising warm air currents along the flanks of the mountains here...they all catch the same thermal and use it to gain altitude.

We have buzzards here too, and they also fly in that formation when they’ve found something yummy to eat...like a dead cow or some yummy roadkill! LOL!

There were a whole flock of them that roosted for a while in one of the huge trees on the lawn of one of the nicer homes here in town. I’m sure the people there were thrilled when they finally moved on. Ugh!

Yep, no secrets that way.

It was the youngest son’s first foray into cooking a holiday meal. Nana was tired of cooking Italian, and that’s what he wanted. So, he decided to make it himself!

It was indeed a good Christmas.

Howdy, EGC! (((hugs)))

All is well here...quite a bit cooler and I think we got a bit of rain overnight. Yay!

Hope all is well there! Cooler there, too? Too cold for a walk today? Hope you and Bo have a VERY 🎉 Happy New Year! 🎉

Thanks and Happy New Year to you too.

We plan on going to Waurika Lake later today. It's forecast to hit 60 today.

That’s not a bad temp! It’s only about 45 here. Usually it’s colder up there!

Enjoy the lake walk! :)

I’ve seen the “tornados” over town a few times while there to shop and they always slooooooowly float over the town. I tried counting the birds once and stopped at 60. There were probably another 15 to 20 more. I wouldn’t want to live near where they roost. Gotta be dagnasty!

Just too cute.

I pulled it up last night just as Harriet was standing up so I missed the nudge.

I’ve given up on the site. It keeps crashing with so many watching now. I’ll stick with the NEFL nest and hope it doesn’t get a lot of publicity.
