Multiple media outlets are reporting that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is finalizing a document that the Obama administration hopes will form the basis for a UN Security Council resolution that officially recognizes a Palestinian state before the end of Barack Obama’s term on January 20th. This comes on the heels of the UN Security Council’s adoption of resolution 2334 on December 23rd. That resolution declared that all Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal, it stated that the Security Council recognizes the 1967 ceasefire lines as the border between Israel and “Palestine”, and it officially gave East Jerusalem to the Palestinians. But it stopped short of formally recognizing a Palestinian state. Resolution 2334 speaks of a Palestinian state in the future tense, but this new resolution that John Kerry is reportedly working on would give immediate and permanent UN Security Council recognition to a Palestinian state.

Israel needs to grow some balls and *really* go after its enemies in the United States. Netanyahu has started to speak out, but we need to see a lot more. In the past they let conservatives do their fighting and just stood back and watched.
The Knesset needs to officially condemn Obama, Kerry and the Democrats for acting as enemies of Israel — I mean an official resolution from that legislative body. They need to make sure that Obama’s legacy in regard to Israel is clearly defined as strongly negative.
American Jewish groups need to decide where they stand. They have cowardly taken both sides of the issue and relegated the defense of Israel to the conservatives. Alan Dershowitz has started to speak out, but other American Jewish groups need to start condeming Obama and the Democrats.

I had a conversation with someone who (credibly) claimed to be one of the Sayaret Matkal guys on the Entebbe operation, over the Internet once.
We talked about lesser-known details of the operation and then out of nowhere he starts in on this seething rant about how American Republicans are the enemies of Israel and Judaism and Democrats are Israel’s only friends in the US.
Wonder what he thinks now. Givel the Left’s propensity for irrational rationalization, I’m sure there’s some ‘reasonable’ explanation in his mind.
