The electoral college is thwarting our ability to battle global warming
washington Post (fake news site) ^ | 12-19-16 | Todd Cort

It is this solution, brilliant at the time, that leads us to Brearley’s legacy on climate change. Because over the course of the last 200 plus years, the electoral college, which provides for stronger voting power per person in more rural and less populated states, has elected four U.S. presidents who clearly lost the popular vote (1876, 1888, 2000 and 2016). Two of those elections have occurred during the period in which we have known about the causes and impacts of carbon dioxide emissions and climate change and in both cases, the impacts of those elections have very likely had profound impacts on our actions to address the challenge.

China has implemented some of the most far-reaching commitments to reduce carbon emissions.

This is a lie of Goebbelian proportions.

China has agreed to start curbing emissions in *2030* !!!

In the meantime, they are moving ahead with plans to build *600 new coal burning plants* !!!

Liberals lie.
Liberals lie.
Liberals lie.

This is the kinda crap that will make Trump double-down on being a successful President in his first term so that he will get a landslide mandate bigger than Reagan’s in his second term.

Average voters in Democrat states aren’t all that interested in global warming. Look at what happened to the Kyoto Accords in Congress when Clinton was president. If Democrats were going to get serious in the way that Cort wants them to, it would cost them votes.

People living in isolated geographical areas are at much greater risk of having their needs ignored than people who are bunched up together in a populated city. The extra electoral power is needed to balance out that risk.

How do you implement a commitment?

It’s the bizarre liberal notion once again that words are more real than reality.

I think if we can send a glacier into the sun on a rocket, we could cool it down via an ice cube-like effect.

Here is weird suggestion. How about actually opening up your science for proper critical review. Than maybe, just maybe, you might actually convince more people about the problem. Nah. Just continue to call us deniers and refuse to debate us. That’s the ticket.

I know their angst is indeed fun to watch, but that makes these snowflakes very dangerous right now. This fake environmental crises if to some of them, their religion and reason for living. Would not be too surprised to see some jumping off bridges, self immolation etc. after Jan. 20.
