While on the surface amusing, I don’t like the idea of faithless electors on either side - I believe the end goal here isn’t to keep Trump out of the White House (though they’d love to), but rather the set the precedent for the Electoral College being antiquated and dysfunctional.
The Dems’ long game is to weaken prohibitions against non-citizen voting and fraud, as well as discrediting the EC.
This is how they plan to bury us.
I still can't get an explanation on how electors just don't show up on the big day. This appears to be the only state (so far) where that has been an issue. Sad.
Based on what I’ve found the electors have 9 days to submit their votes to the US Senate (ie 28th of Dec) for formal certification. Most states have a pretty streamlined system. Like other have said, I think TX has an overblown (Slap on the Back) system that just takes forever.
That’s exactly what many people are thinking right now.
Our founding fathers were Geniuses, over 200 years ago they created a system that handles Murphey’s law.
All Snafus are anticipated. Thank God in those days we had good education.

I read that two of them work for the federal government, and were therefore ineligible? Why they would have been picked, I don’t know. Not sure about that story.

It’s very odd, I personally think it sucks.
I always thought that there were already ‘back ups’ in this type of event. Kind of like jury duty, if you get booted, there are alternates ready to go!
