Mitch McConnell Backs A Congressional Investigation Into Russian Hacking
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday said that he supports a congressional investigations into Russia’s cybersecurity activities that involved interfering in the 2016 U.S. election.
“Obviously any foreign breach of our cybersecurity measures is disturbing and I strongly condemn any such efforts,” the Kentucky Republican told reporters in a prepared statement at an end-of-year news conference on Capitol Hill.
“I agree with Senator [Chuck] Schumer, Senator [John] McCain, Burr and others that this simply cannot be a partisan issue. Let me remind you that the Senate Intelligence Committee is more than capable of conducting a complete review of this matter,” McConnell added.
McConnell noted that Schumer, the next minority leader, will join the Intelligence Committee where he’ll be able to join the investigation. McCain, as chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said he plans to launch an investigation. The Obama administration announced Friday that it has ordered a full review of Russia’s interference in the election.

Two things that strike me:
1. Since the MSM declared this all to be true beyond any doubt over the weekend, why do we need any further investigation?
2. Since this is apparently an outright attack on our country, even an “act of war” as Keith Olbermann put it, why are we asking Trump about it as opposed to the sitting Commander in Chief?
McConnell, for once in your life, act like a winner who knows fake news when he sees it.

This should be an easy, no-brainer for Trump. After taking office, co-opt the Russia hacking meme by declaring a new offensive to clean up any and all potential compromising elements in our election process. “My fellow Americans, it’s time to shine the light of total transparency on our elections to eliminate any rogue element of nefarious activity.” And then aggressively purse all aspects of voter fraud in the system, including cleaning up all voter rolls. Beat the issue like a drum. The Dems are handing you a golden ticket to take hard action on this whole issue with the Russian hacking thing.
Do you really think they'd hold public hearings on this? I'm seriously wondering if it would all take place behind closed doors. Too many RINOS in the Senate willing to conspire with the Dems.
Let’s wait and see on this one. First of all the DNC is not a government organization, it is private. Secondly, an investigation would shine a spot light on the emails that were exposed (heretofore seen only by political junkies and not the populace at large), and show how incompetent the Democrats are.
Now we have congresscritters peddling conspiracy theories.
No wonder Congress has a low public approval rating.
There will be friends in the hearing. Not everyone is traitor.
Bring it on. Their investigation should be welcomed, it will just prove they are feckless fools.
