The Canadian government approved a national carbon price on Friday after a heated discussion.

In a meeting attended by provincial representatives, aboriginal leaders, as well as United States Vice President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pushed the carbon-pricing plan he had been working on for months. […]

The plan calls for the cost of producing a ton of carbon pollution to rise 10 Canadian dollars ($7.60, €7.19) per year starting in 2018 until it reaches 50 Canadian dollars in 2022. In a compromise, the price would pause for British Columbia at 30 Canadian dollars in 2020.

Out of the 10 provinces, only Saskatchewan and Manitoba did not sign the agreement. Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall said the carbon price increase would make Canadian firms less competitive. …

Thank you.
I try and console myself that there IS always the next election, or if things get TOO outrageous, perhaps the opposition parties might go the route of a vote of no-confidence, like what happened in 1979.

thanks- so canadian gubmint will get an extra $2,000,000,000 approx from it’s people every year to ‘fix a problem that isn’t a problem’-

By the way- not that having 0.00136% of the atmosphere comprised of CO2 as a direct result of man is in any way shape or form a problem, but what exactly do they intend to do with the money to ‘fix the problem’ (that isn’t a problem)? spend it on a gigantic vacuum to suck all the carbon out of the air? Install CO2 scrubbers? Build wind turbines? Water turbines? Plant more trees? Or does the money just line the pockets of the gubmint worker bees?

These are ultimately only kinds of evil.

Political correctness is to be pressured into lying.

Being shy of American privilege is to put down the glory of God that had been worked in America.

Neither one of these makes God a happy camper with us.

The political preferences of America can explain some things, but it can’t explain everything about how Donald Trump, after a number of vain attempts, saw a meteoric rise in support even after doing many things “wrong.” It is like trying to explain a love affair based on what went before.

Please note; I called it the “least-worst” solution — that’s different from a “good” solution. The best solution would be to just ignore the whole “climate-change” fraud. Lest I sounded like too supportive; I should add an important point.

The carbon tax hits natural-resource industries much harder than it does: high-tech, post-industrial, urban businesses. In turn, that hurts the hinterland to benefit the big cities.

So, B.C.’s carbon tax isn’t great — it’s just less worse than “doing” anything else about “climate change”.

My guess is money wasted on useless green projects.

Anything government gets involved with is seldom a success.

Well, it can’t hurt to pray to God (even if you feel unsure, “dear God, if you are really there, then please show us”) for a better future for Canada.

I’m kind of a “faith nut” and come across weird to a lot of people, and hopefully won’t weird you out too much.

Churches in Canada really blew their opportunity to show what God was about, as I understand the history, when they became centers of human interest politics and culture and forgot what God wanted. They sometimes were gratuitously cruel to the First Nations people to try to make them forget their cultural history (which anyone who knew the bible would know is horribly wrong). This problem was less prevalent in the USA. But faith still grew feeble in the USA.

Anyhow, God is the exception to the rule that you’ve pointed out in your own tag line. God is bitter only to people who are opposing Him. To those who learn not to oppose Him, He becomes sweeter than any lie could possibly become. And of course I pray, God bless you and God bless Canada.

Carbon price?

In the real world, the carbon price varies depending in its molecular structure. If it is cubic-octahederal it is priced high.
If it is in nano-tubes or complex truncated icosahedron, it is priced medium.

If it is hexagonal, it is fairly inexpensive. If it is sort of amorphous and mixed with other molecules it ranges from cheap to worthless.

The stuff that these guys are talking about isn’t carbon. Carbon is merely a component of it. And it is all B.S. anyway..

Climate change scam is all about raising taxes and eliminating jobs.

It's about more than that.

Everything you need to know about the climate change agenda was stated quite clearly by the UN's top climate official in 2015:

"This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution. That will not happen overnight and it will not happen at a single conference on climate change, be it COP 15, 21, 40 - you choose the number. It just does not occur like that. It is a process, because of the depth of the transformation."
--Christiane Fugueres, Executive Secretary of UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change)

This explains why the Canadians are so anxious to pump their oil south to the Gulf of Mexico.

No carbon tax = Higher oil price

They want to tax the air we breathe and going to the bathroom. We live in caves. They live in mansions.

Canada should raise the carbon tax to $100 per ton to have weather like Miami.
