Mainstream Media Continues Absolving Itself From Clinton, Trump Election Failures

This is, I believe, and important article from a left wing site that is showing they understand what the media has been doing, at least recently during this campaign.

It's a major reckoning ... worth reading IMO.

They have to absolve themselves from those election failures so they can move on to post-election first term failures.

All the stuff about a Hillary landslide, looks like the wrong side believed it. They stayed home and we voted.
OOPS!

Yes Hillary landslide. Did they really think this or was this an attempt to influence?

disproportionately biased coverage from mainstream media propped up Hillary Clinton’s candidacy

*group think on parade

The New York Times and nearly every major news publication in the country formally endorsed Hillary Clinton during the Democratic Primaries and the general election.

*that is exactly what marketing firms are expected to do.

Hillary Clinton received a disproportionate amount of support from mainstream media in the primaries and general election.

*that is exactly what marketing firms are expected to do, otherwise why pay them so much.

Though Sanders’ support was divided more on age than it ever was across race and gender, pro-Clinton journalists throughout mainstream media reported as fact that Bernie Sanders supporters were all white males.

*burned by their own race card

Sanders’ policies were also scrutinized beyond constructive criticism. The Washington Post Editorial Board called Sanders’ campaign “fiction-filled,” just days before the Iowa Caucuses.

*it’s a rigged system and Bernie rolled over like a dog.

Trump received nearly $2 billion in free media coverage, nearly 6 times more than Bernie Sanders. Though most of this coverage was negative, its goal to elevate an unfavorable, weak general election opponent for Hillary Clinton to face,

*MISSED THE POINT love it.

Amid the efforts from mainstream media to manufacture outrage against Donald Trump, they have effectively desensitized millions of Americans from valid and essential criticisms of his candidacy.

*MISSED THE POINT love it.

The mainstream media praised Hillary Clinton as “the most qualified” candidate to ever run in history while it shoved outrage over Donald Trump down the throats of Americans.

*Got one right.

Even after Clinton’s election loss, her continued silence on important issues is ignored by Clinton journalists, who instead focus on stories about selfies other people have taken in chance encounters with Clinton.

*She was faking a smooth transition.

We are now posed with the dangers of a Donald Trump presidency,

*Great googaly moogaly

yet Clinton has abandoned the millions of people who casted votes for her in the general election in favor of recoiling to her elitist comfort zone,

*She’s a DRUNK

But in the eyes of mainstream media, Clinton and her brand of establishment neo-liberal politics remain perfect.

*and that suits me just fine. [hic]

I do think that was a big part of it.

There were millions of us Trump voters waiting for November 8th...no early voting, no absentee.

And on that one true Election Day, we flocked to polls, waited in long lines and cast our vote for Donald Trump.

Who are we??? We're the workers...the ones picking up the tab for all the lazy and system scammers. We're educated, family orieted and have a bit of wisdom.

I waited in line for 1 1/2 hours. Fortunately, the weather was comfortable here in Upstate NY.

Definitely an attempt to influence....just like Timmy Russert and his pen and board....’cept he didn’t realize it at the time.

The latter. It is a tactic that has worked for them many times.

“We are now posed with the dangers (toward Progressivism) of a Donald Trump presidency,” is how I read it. Spot on!

I think this is a weak case — that the media helped Trump by propping Clinton.
But the alternative is to admit that the voters largely ignored the saturation campaign against Trump, ignored the media.
Anything’s better than admitting they have lost influence.

The poles were clearly put out there to guide public opinion, not to gauge it.

I believe that the multiple polls showing 98% chance of Hillary winning were created to influence major donors who only bet on sure things. Hillary needed donor cash and they helped her get it.

“pro-Clinton journalists continue blaming Clinton’s opponents for her defeat”

No argument there. Trump was the better choice.

” Trump received nearly $2 billion in free media coverage”

How many billions of dollars of airtime did the broadcasters devote to Hillary cheerleading and Trump bashing?

That guy will not get laid for at least a week for his honesty....assuming of course his girlfriend was not at a party in Oakland a week ago that got too ‘hot’.

A lot of them knew they were lying about Hillary’s popularity. They were trying to manipulate the public’s vote.
