Rudy Giuliani is out of the running for the coveted secretary of State nomination for the incoming administration, according to multiple reports.

CNN reported that President-elect Donald Trump told the former New York City mayor that he had been removed from consideration for the job, while ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson is now leading the pack of candidates.

NBC also reported that Giuliani is no longer in the running.

Exxon Mobil CEO Tillerson is leading candidate.

"Trump is also said to be considering former CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus, retired Adm. James Stavridis, 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney and former Ford CEO Alan Mulally."

Jennifer Griffin reported this morning that

1. Tillerson has emerged as the leading candidate for SOS.

2. Giuliani is in the Trump doghouse for publicly touting himself for SOS and declining to be considered for director of DHS.

3. John Bolton is/was being considered for deputy SOS but allegedly told the Trump people he would not take that job.

Still say it’s going to be Bolton.

My bet is that Newt and Rudy will be advisors behind the scenes.

One of those "Don't believe everything you read" blogs.

Trump doesn't give them a clue...and so they have to make it up.

It's all about "The Elevator".

True; I was simply relaying what Jennifer Griffin said on Brian Kilmeade’s radio show this morning.

I don’t think Giuliani would have been a good SOS. I loved him as Mayor of NY especially during and after 911, and I wish he had gotten that third term. However, there were a lot of things I didn’t like - such as his drag appearances on local TV, his ugly divorce, etc.

I’m sure he’d be good at something in the new administration, although it might be a lesser position than he thinks he deserves. So it depends on how much he loves the USA.

I have mixed feelings about all of the latter, although Romney might be the best. He’s dignified looking and an excellent speaker. While I didn’t like him but had to vote for him in the prior election, I was impressed when he came to my town and spoke because he really seemed to love the USA, even though his policies were definitely wussy. But maybe if he agreed to abide by the overall policy goals he’d be good.

Then again, maybe Trump will call up 93 yr old Henry Kissinger...who seemed quite sharp and on his toes in a recent interview...for a brief run. One never knows, but I’ve been happy with his choices so far.

My question is:

How is CNN getting raw information in order to report on anything? No way anyone connected with our next government should ever speak to anyone from CNN about anything. Or from NBC. Or ABC. Or CBS....

Petraeus, NO, NO, NOOOOOO.

I guess among those still there, I’d prefer Bolton. He said no to deputy, but that doesn’t mean he’s out.

I think Rudy has to many companies he would have to do something with in order to not have a conflict of interest!! Rudy has probably decided to NOT take any position due to this!!! The MSM is going to be ALL OVER Trumps cabinet like RABID PIT BULLS the BASTARDS that they are, crickets where HELLARY’S foundation is concerned but you can bet Trump will be scrutinized like we have NEVER SEEN before!!!!

Rudy will replace Comey. They are running a smoke screen on SoS and it is obvious to the trained eye.

Giuliani’s a legal bulldog. He destroyed NYC Italian and Irish mobs.
Rudy should be advising the generals on how to dismantle the Mexican drug and human trafficking cartels, and mosque armories/indoctrination centers, with RICO civil penalties along with deportation and criminal penalties.

Politically—he’s an Italian-American, I’m not (my loss) and Giuliani would be a huge asset in dismantling the hold of the `rats on their urban plantation.
If `Barkis is still willing,’ IMHO Trump’s people would make a big mistake by not giving him at least an emeritus position, with real clout, in federal law enforcement.

After taking the oath of office President Trump should immediately ask for James Comey`s resignation and promptly name Giuliani as head of the FBI. That would be awesome and heads would roll, starting with Hillary and her whole trash-pickin crew.

I had Rudy at the top of my list of Secretary of State candidates, but that only included the prospective nominees whose names were showing up in media reports about the post.

Admittedly, I had him at the top of the list because I thought the list was filled with some very poor candidates in my humble opinion.
