LBJ did Blacks no favors here, and as I understand it, it took Republicans to get the things passed.

It took Republican votes to pass the Civil Rights and the Voting Rights bills.

The "War on Poverty" welfare bills enjoyed near-unanimous Democrat support.

Of course - to ensure justice by freeing the innocent from bad law or abusive prosecution.

Did it take Republican support to make both these bills law?

Yes.

Actually, we're both right.

It took Republican support in the Senate (30-1). But the House Republicans voted 145-22 against.

Which of those bodies did the Democrats have the votes to carry on their own?

Great idea, send killers back to kill blacks in their own neighborhoods.

I’m sure seeing jury nullification will go a long way toward not employing certain folks, (government jobs always the exception).

Except he is using contemporary instances, like Michael Brown, George Zimmerman, and Eric Garner, which belie his point.

Do you believe, like the writer, that whites are still "doing the exact same thing?"

Apparently this stupid racist motherfucker is unaware of the number of murder, rapes, and robberies his wonderful “negroes” commit, because if he were, he would be choking on the sickening irony of his moronic adolescent twaddle.

Both.

The Republicans were grossly outnumbered in both houses in 1964.

To be specific, party splits or the 88th Congress (1963-65):

..............D....R

Please use the link I gave you, and take a look at the actual vote.

The Democrats didn’t vote in large enough numbers to win in either body. And you have pointed out a very good point. They easily could have.

It took Republicans to enable the bills.
