Trump says Goodbye to Free-Market Economics (sore loser alert)
National Review ^ | 12/07/2016 | George Will

So, this is the new conservatism’s recipe for restored greatness: Political coercion shall supplant economic calculation in shaping decisions by companies in what is called, with diminishing accuracy, the private sector. This will be done partly as conservatism’s challenge to liberalism’s supremacy in the victimhood sweepstakes, telling aggrieved groups that they are helpless victims of vast, impersonal forces, against which they can be protected only by government interventions

We will pay those taxes when in effect. It will make those same products made here look less expensive. By buying local, we encourage job creation here over job creation in China. More people with jobs can buy more things, either from the US or China. As more people realize they are no longer undercut by cheap foreign goods from enemy governments, more businesses open up because people realize their ideas and efforts will pay off, rather than be stolen by China. Fewer people are left unemployed and more monies flow through the system, being taxed at each point of exchange, paying down public debts but enriching each along the way. Productivity will start to go up as people make investments to curb local cost inflation, but now other jobs actually are available, allowing a much easier migration to these other jobs than were otherwise appearing in China to enrich China's locals (after all, our unemployed don't get offered jobs in China to fill their manufacturing needs). The economy continues to grow and more people feel happy and comfortable that the future won't be taken from them. We go through another 1980s-type decade or longer and we relearn bedrock American principles, changing a generation of liberals into the Alex P. Keatons of Trump's time as president.

Any other smart-ass questions you'd like answered better than you expect?

Shut up George Will. Your opinion is no longer viable. This is a new America with REAL Americans in charge.

Someone with a spine should tell George Will that he is in OUR tent now and he can only stay by playing by OUR rules.

Tally ho, George. It’s time to go if you can’t follow rules.

Thank you for that correction.

The RINO-Left has highjacked the term “conservative”, in an identity theft, using it to blur the lines in the eyes of the galactically stupid and stop the bleeding.

We were kicking their butt and marginalizing their nether region calling them “RINO”. So, they stole our identity.

George doesn’t seem to understand that a free market is only free if all involved are honest. If some cheat, then you have only a mercantilist economic system - in which case you have to look out for yourself or you get eaten alive. Sucking your thumb and murmuring “Free market, free market,” with a tear rolling down your cheek won’t change that fact. Trump, unlike Will, operates in the real world and understands this.

Saw him on FoxNews calling Trump a “socialist” or “communist”. A #NeverTrump loser, Georgie Will is trying to force people into thinking he is somehow relevant.

George Will is an utter buffoon. And this election cycle exposed him for what he is — a fool who with $10 words and arcane historical anecdotes makes you think he’s smart.

All he really is a talking head con-artist, a stuffed-shirt Glenn Beck.

George Will only cares about himself and his Washington in-crowd. He is the poster child for a stupid and corrupt GOPe columnist.

He is a fake conservative who serves a useful role for the leftists because he’s eccentric and can therefore be dismissed as an old, out-of-touch fuddy-duddy.

The sooner George Will is sent packing, the sooner we can replace the bad conservative stereotype he represents, and people can begin to see the true face of conservatives — people like Trump, Ann Coulter, Sessions, and Kellyanne Conway,

Mr Will

Curious if any of you “Movement Conservative” can comprehend the difference between cutting someone future taxes (i.e. Carrier) and taking money out of the Federal Treasury to make grants and loads to a crony (i.e. GM, Fisker or Solyndra)?

It is utterly amusing to watch supposed “Libertarians” and self styled “True Conservatives” busy mouthing the Marxist economic dogma that all economic output is property of the State and any time the state takes less it is a “Government subsidy”.

That is the base for this absurd “crony capitalism” argument. This dogma that any reduction in government taxation MUST be “paid for” by increased taxation on others is utterly absurd nonsense completely at odds with our system of Government.

Under the US Constitution (and the John Lock theory of the “Consent of the Governed” ) Taxes are the gift of the people to the Government. Government has no right to the income unless the people grant it. Amazing how self proclaimed “Constitutionals”, quickly discard ALL fact and reason to find some childishly petulant reason to whine about Trump daily.

How long has it been since markets were “free?”

The 1920s. The amusing thing to watch here is the "Movement Conservatives" like Will busy defending the system of Managed Trade created post WW2 by European Socialist and FDR New Dealer as "Free Market". It kind of amazing to see how fundamentally stupid so many of the "smart people" in the media like Will actually are. They are merely trained Parrots who can mindlessly reiterate their slogans and dogmas on command. They do not actually have any real intellectual ability.

I would like “Movement Conservatives” to explain the USA’s almost zero import duties in the face of $800B/yr trade deficit? Any other country wouldn’t allow that to happen. It just shows the situation now is “crony” capitalism with K Street corrupting the Uniparty to keep the wealth drain going. Both parties are corrupt. Free Traitors™ are a tiny minority running(and ruining) the USA’s economic industrial power and security.
