Trump chooses pro wrestling magnate Linda McMahon to head the Small Business Administration

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump plans to nominate professional wrestling magnate and former Senate candidate Linda McMahon as his choice to head the Small Business Administration, transition officials told Reuters on Wednesday.

The announcement was expected later on Wednesday.

McMahon, 68, is a co-founder and former CEO of the professional wrestling franchise WWE, which is based in Stamford, Connecticut. She ran unsuccessfully for a U.S. Senate seat in Connecticut in 2010. She was an early supporter of Trump's presidential campaign.

The SBA, which has at least one office in every U.S. state, provides support to small businesses such as extending loans and making sure they get a percentage of federal contracts.

Trump's announcement, a copy of which was seen by Reuters, said McMahon would be a key player in his effort to generate stronger job growth and roll back federal regulations. He said she had helped the WWE grow from a 13-person operation to a publicly traded global enterprise with more than 800 employees worldwide. Donald Trump is a WWE Hall of Fame member.

You know, you started that off telling me I’m blathering, but by the end of the post it seems that we are of the same mind.

So I will continue taking a hardline for liberty, and people like you who are smarter than me will push statism back in increments. And look reasonable while they do it.

Now if I’m wrong and we actually disagree, then have a nice day.

I once had my friendly IRS agent tell me to be very careful with the SBA. What they do he said is provide you enough rope to hang your self

“How many people in their 70’s”? What? We need more Tommy Vietor (the dude guy) or a Ben Rhodes. No thank you.

We need to take slices where we can and more the next time around

I'm OK with taking slices. I'm not OK with refusing to recognize that slices need to be taken. SBA is an unconstitutional boondoggle. We all know it. We need to say it. We'll never get rid of it if we don't recognize that simple fact.

70 is the new 55. I’m 77.

So what's the new 77? I'm 78.

‘Trump should name the Iron Sheik as special envoy to Iran.’

Even with all the hilarity of the election, I have not laughed so much as when I read this. And, it makes a lot of sense too.

Well, obviously you don't.

It is the only govt. agency that makes money and creates employment in the process. For a fee, it guarantees banks a fraction of the money that lend to small businesses for expansion, purchase, etc. Private banks are conservative, commercial institutions who have very strict criteria for lending, and stand to lose if these loans are not repaid. The banks actively lend to Military Vets under a special program.

So, it is not your run-of-the mill govt. agency that sucks tax payer money that needs to be "limited", as you seem to think.
