The Problem Isn't the Alt-Right – It's the Alt-Reality
American Thinker ^ | December 6, 2016 | Tom Trinko

Posted on 12/06/2016 5:09:49 AM PST by Kaslin

We hear about the alt-right and the alt-left, but the real issue is the alt-reality.

Most Americans' perceptions of the world are shaped by information they get from primarily liberal sources such as the media, academia, and government.

That's why many Americans live in an alternate reality where Hillary did nothing wrong at Benghazi, abortions occur only due to rape, global warming is supported by 97% of scientists, the economy is doing great, emotions are good and reasoning is bad, Republicans are racists, Castro was a kind and caring man, and Trump is an insane tyrant.

The reason liberals have been able to get away with lying for so long is that most of these issues don't affect the average voter. The average voter doesn't care about Cuba, is not planning on having an abortion herself, and didn't lose anyone at Benghazi. As a result, many people don't bother to see if what they hear is in fact true.

In addition, most people aren't exposed to any information sources that contradict the liberal narrative. Hence, the average person who's working hard to support their family and raise their children never has any reason to question liberal propaganda.

Even worse, when the "accepted" information sources all say any position they don't agree with is "fake," the average Joe or Jane will simply assume that his brother-in-law who is a conservative is just mistaken. After all, would the nightly news anchor who looks so honest really lie?

“Alt-Right”, “Birther”, “Fake News”, “Extremist”, all of these pejoratives were manufactured by the hard left to attack conservatives, Judeo-Christianity, and the Truth.

Any story with “Alt-Right” should be flooded with responses on the Ctrl-Left. First, liberal heads would explode at the idea that some don’t see their micromanagement of our lives as a positive, and second, decent people would laugh because it’s a truthful description.

“Neocon” is another they try to label conservatives with. They try to make conservatives sound like extremist Neanderthals.

Labeling is just another Alinsky Rules for Radicals tactic.

I still don't get where this term was turned into a Synonymy for The Klan.

The first time I heard of it was Eight Months ago when I watched a Youtube Video of Lauren Southern on Theryn Meyer's channel.

I guess the lib's are masters at controlling the language.

Liberals have had to up their name calling. “Racist” doesn’t work any more, so now anyone they disagree with is a white supremacist, or KKK member.

It's called anti-American leftist liberal fantasy land.

As nonsensical as is Hillary’s “alt-right” label, it does create an excellent parody with a “ctrl-left” label for Democrats. Indeed, the parody is worse, because “alt” just implies “alternative”, but “ctrl” implies “control”.

This means the original expression has to be explained to the suggestible, but the latter on speaks for itself.

Alt-Right means that the right has expanded outside married and white; and scares the hell out of the left.

The Alt-Right includes a vocal minority of the LGBTQ community. Their sense of funny / fun / cool expands the right.

The left wants the middle to believe the Alt-Right is about birthers, assault rifle toting men dressed in camo, and other “standard rednecks”.

Nice try, but now with the internet and its podcasts; the middle is not fooled.

Not exactly. Neo-conservative was a label that some Cold War Democrats adopted when they left the Carter-McGovern Democrats to support Ronald Reagan. Google Irving Kristol.

CNN, MSNBC, etc., love using neocon. It makes conservatives sound like extremists. Regardless of the history, they love the word.

Liberals only control the language (or anything else) if you let them.

Call them on it when they do it and they immediately slide back into the darkness like the cockroaches they are.
