Why Obama Likely is Secretly Glad Hillary Lost
American Thinker ^ | December 6, 2016 | Doris O'Brien

Am I the only person who thinks that in Barak Obama’s heart of hearts lies a glimmer of glee now that the Clintons won’t be moving into the White House when he moves out? Roll your eyes in skepticism, if you will. But hear me out before launching a barrage of Bronx cheers.

Yes, yes, I know. Obama took time out from his busy presidential schedule to campaign for Hillary. On the other hand, he’s taken time out to play golf, fly off to vacations, fund-raise, and do other things unrelated to the business at hand. Face it: the garrulous guy has always loved being on the stump. In fact, he delivers speeches better than he delivers the promises in them. And even if he isn’t allowed by law to run for a third term, he has sufficient conceit to believe that he could handily have whipped both Hillary and The Donald.

Obama would be the first to remind us that the longer the contentious 2016 presidential campaign dragged on, the higher his approval ratings rose, if only because he was not actually a candidate. Still, our sitting president is vain enough to take this as a sign of his enduring popularity, of which he intends to take full advantage when he leaves office. In a way, it will help him that Secretary Clinton was defeated, since there now appears to be no other Democrat who is capable of reminding the world how he won two elections and did much good.

Such a rationale could insure that Obama remains a significant -- and even idolized – figure among disillusioned Democrats. Republicans may not approve of how “un-presidential” he has behaved since the November election. But in the eyes of his supporters, he is still the only undisputed hero they have.

Obama doesn’t seem to be very secret about it.
He did the absolute minimum that he could for her during the campaign.

I have another theory. He’s glad because it means the Dems will have to get another non white person in order to have a real chance

For Obama, the Clinton debacle was a Pyrrhic loss

For him, her loss of the battle did not prevent him from losing the war

Had Her Heinous won, Zer0 would be bragging that he won his third term. Liberals are mental cases.

If Hillary won in 2008, she probably would have moved us to single payer. Obama had little involvement in obamacare because he was just a spokesman, not a policy wonk. It was Hillary’s pet issue

By losing, she’s softened up...if not humbled...and worried enough about a future in prison. Obama is in the perfect position now to negotiate a huge percentage out of the Clinton Foundation and/or any funds stashed offshore.

I don't think it's any more complicated than,
Washington D.C. isn't big enough for both the Clinton's and the Obama's.

I have another theory. He's glad she lost because he never forgave her for the things she and her team said during her 2008 campaign.

It was both comical and pathetic to see her running around in 2016 desperately trying to secure the support of Democrat voters who she had alienated back in 2008 when she built her campaign around an appeal to white working-class voters in all of the swing states she ended up losing in 2016.

Yes -- it's true. It's easy to forget that the "basket of deplorables" she insulted in 2016 had been the base of her support in 2008.

I read the article and noticed the part about being "the first black" president when in actuality he is not. He is half white AND half black.

That's kind of like being neither slow or fast but rather halfast.

The same can be said for Al Gore. He did the bare bones minimum to help Hillary, he remained silent on Trump, then he went out of his way to meet with him yesterday. That's why I always post Gore & the Spanish Inquisition anytime the Hillary camp goofed up...

She made that comment to some gay group. She was only interested in the liberal elite because that’s where the money is for the Democrats. Not inner cities folk and blue collars

Yep. Obama repeatedly said that what was on the ballot was HIS legacy.

If Hillary won there was no good outcome for him - either she’d fail, which would get blamed on him, or succeed, for which she’d take credit for being the uniter that he could never achieve.

Her “first woman” achievement would also irk him as that “first” relates to half the population, compared the demographic that gets tingles over his “first”.

And at best, he’d simply fade into irrelevance as Hillary took center stage, knowing that any critical comments he might hav could not be shared.

But with Trump winning and both Clintons on the outs, what could be better for him! He is no the defacto anti-Trump leader of the Democrats.

“Glimmer of glee” is an understatement. Obama is probably jumping for joy.

LOVE that graphic AND it’s likely valid ... lol.

No harm, no foul for either or both of those guys casting their ballots for Trump.

Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised to eventually learn that Obama voted for Trump ... LOL.

Plus Obama always hated Hillary Clinton for starting the Birther Movement.
