“Ive noticed you hardly ever can find engine horsepower ratings on the window stickers any more..”
I guess maybe it depends on the type of car your interested in. The last new car we purchased was at the end of 2013. We were replacing a high-milage Chevy Avalanche with another one as GM wound down it’s production. The window sticker clearly called out the powertrain features and the horsepower (320)
75 years ago the EPA would have been known as the SS. An unconstitutional agency needs to be definanced - period.
I drove a Dodge for 10 years. Nice and roomy interior while still being a compact, dependable car and strong engine. It’s got 200+ miles on it and is now hubby’s beater car for work. Anyways, we went with economical Chevy as a replacement and I do miss the responsiveness of the heftier Dodge engine and comfortable roomy interior/seats.

Trump is getting all the companies to bring up all the costly regs so that he can quickly get rid of them. Much more effective than asking the bureaucracies to come up with a study.
They should stick to actual pollution that makes people sick and looks crappy. Not micromanage how cars should be made. Not paperwork requirements. Not CO2
The entire bureaucratic mentality needs to go away from all the government depts and agencies and if we can do that, that will keep them from growing back and it may even be possible to abolish some of them

I could have had a V8
MAYBE!!!! Trump was on with Hannity saying how we will lead the world in oil production. Detroit could be manufacturing the muscle car again! (But I won’t hold my breath)
The V8’s are alive, well and better than ever.
Chevy just came out with a Camaro that has a 900 + horsepower V8. The Mustang V8 produces 410 horsepower from a 5.0 liter engine; the Shelby versions are even higher. Dodge is producing a car that produces 700 + horsepower. Detroit is producing muscle cars right now.
I got news for Ford. They’ve got bigger probs than the EPA. We bought our first Ford vehicle a couple years ago, a new car. We’ve had the dang thing in the shop repeatedly for all kinds of issues, some major. All covered by warranty, thank God, but we’re not doing this again. We will NEVER buy another Ford.
Or, they will only be able to afford tiny Obamawagens or to rent them. However, the new EPA will look different.
That’s a nice one too. So is the 4 and 6BT.
Have 1976 V-8 Plus 1979 V-8 in my driveway. Both still run. Total of 560,000 combined on them.
Girlfriend has a 3 year old truck & her fuel pump cost her over $600. I paid $22 for the fuel pump in my station wagon & $28 for the one I got for the 454 Dually Chevy truck.
IF you don’t get the fuel cap back on your fuel neck in today’s cars exactly right to make the computer happy—the check engine light comes on. NOT a light that says CHECK FUEL CAP-—and instead of simply taking the cap off & putting it on again, a local ‘garage’ charged a retired lady $75 to ‘put it on the computer’.
Again?
Today’s muscle cars run circles around yesterday’s...
Chevy just came out with a Camaro that has a 900 + horsepower V8.
Really?
The Mustang V8 produces 410 horsepower from a 5.0 liter engine;
2015 upgraded to 435.
One thing I would love to see is elimination of the CAFE regulations.
