AN SAS sniper has picked off his 100th Islamic State militant during fighting for the Iraqi city of Mosul.
The impressive tally makes him one of the most successful snipers in the British armed forces.
His latest kill is said to be a “high valued target” in the terror group, which has put up fierce resistance as the US-backed coalition attempts to recapture Iraq’s second city from the extremists.

Taking his position outside a compound that was once a base for former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, the sharpshooter needed just a single bullet to punch through the senior ISIS commander’s body armour, killing him instantly.

I’ve fired an SA-80 too,l but it seems you can’t get them over here, and I have to say shooting the SA-80 is probably the best assault I have fired.
Oh I forgot urban warfare casualties are 5 to 10 times higher than open field battles.
I just finished reading “The Quiet Professional” by Alan Hoe. Quite a soldier.
Interesting. I remember years ago when the IRA terrorists were looking to put a bomb in Gibraltar, only for them to be ambushed in the streets by the SAS.
They emptied all their rounds into the IRA,and when asked later why , they said they had no more rounds.
As a kid I remember then storming the Iranian embassy too, and ten they just disappeared after.
They seem to never want the publicity at all .
I agree as today’s enemy has agents here. I about hit the damn roof when Odumbas- went to Ft Campbell then talked about SEAL Team six on TV. This jerk for a Pres has made it so the enemy know every man who wears a trident, wears a Green Beret, etc. We have Muslims everywhere and they damn sure know where the military man’s residence is. Sad as hell. We used to have OPSEC not a Pres who discloses TS info on TV. Then Hillary divulges nuke info.
If there was a way to start a legitimate gofund me type page and with guaranteed delivery of the proceeds to this remarkable marksman-— then someone please do it!! I am in for 50.

Read an interesting article on this. For the most part ISIS is composed of dedicated volunteer fighters with an intense religious cause burned into their brains. They are literally fighting for Allah. The regular army are mostly conscripts who may be under the command of a different religious group; Sunni vs. Shia, for example. (There are finer graduations among the groups and they make a huge difference to the adherents.)
The article covered major battles in modern times and pointed out where an Israeli field commander had huge leeway to do what he saw fit an Arab commander who took actions without orders from higher-ups could be killed or cashiered even if he was successful. Russian advisers told the Egyptians in the ‘67 war to move the surviving planes to other airfields as the Israelis would be back. The Arabs didn’t do this because they had no orders to do it. Therefore they lost all of their planes instead of just a few.
The higher officers are threatened by initiative, as one way to get to be a higher officer is by assassination. Muammar Kaddafi surrounded himself with non-Arab people because he so feared assassination by his own officers. (Live by treason; die by treason.)
Note also that a large number of really old high ranking Iranian officers have been killed “by enemy action” in Syria. One has to wonder why the officers around them weren’t killed as well. Instead, they got promoted.

These real men know they can’t be public, and they live that way.
They know what they have done, and know that God and some of their fellows do too. That is enough.
Contrast that with the EMPTY obamma — he has NOTHING in himself, and has to live off accomplishments of these men, damaging their very lives by doing so.
I am not familiar with the book. Yes, we in SF call ourselves the Quiet Pros. I recall the original SF guys I served with in 67-70 the most as we had WWII types who came to us under the Lodge Act. Fins like Col. Pavo Kiernam, and the Keravouri’s father and son) are men I looked up to. Larry Thorne was KIA before I got in SF. We had Czech’s, and a Polish type or two. We had men who were OSS in WWII plus a lot of senior NCO’s were 187th RCT in Korea. The Lodge Act types were old 10th Group (Bad Tolz,Germany types. I was glad to learn from them.
Because they are death cultists, and when we destroyed the religious dictatorship in Iraq we shattered the faith of the Iraqi army. We got their minds but failed to get their hearts by teaching them about Christ. We carefully showed them a secular faith, and hid any mention of Christ by force of law.
It was beyond foolish, all that society has ever known is chains. We had the chance to show them true freedom, we showed them democracy instead.
Take away their false God, but refuse to show them the truth and it leaves them the only option, doubling down.
Indeed they are deadly isn’t their motto Those who dare win?.
