G.O.P. Plans Immediate Repeal of Health Law, Then a Delay
NYT's ^ | 12/2/16 | ROBERT PEAR, JENNIFER STEINHAUER and THOMAS KAPLAN

WASHINGTON — Republicans in Congress plan to move almost immediately next month to repeal the Affordable Care Act, as President-elect Donald J. Trump promised. But they also are likely to delay the effective date so that they have several years to phase out President Obama’s signature achievement.

This emerging “repeal and delay” strategy, which Speaker Paul D. Ryan discussed this week with Vice President-elect Mike Pence, underscores a growing recognition that replacing the health care law will be technically complicated and could be politically explosive.

Since the law was signed by Mr. Obama in March 2010, 20 million uninsured people have gained coverage, and the law has become deeply embedded in the nation’s health care system, accepted with varying degrees of enthusiasm by consumers, doctors, hospitals, insurance companies and state and local governments.

He may be GREEN, but much too tall to be considered a leprechaun.

There is something appealing about leprechauns. There is nothing appealing about Odungo, except his impending exit from office.

They want to repeal it immediately to show the electorate that they’ve heard the mandate they’ve been given. Seems like a good idea. Add this to to all the reversals of Obama that Trump sign on day one. Will be fun to watch next year.

I certainly do not believe it is a miracle solution. It could be an aid in some states. OBamacare has devastated the state insurance market in a number of states and if Obamacare is repealed their is not a good market remaining in them for competition.

I hated deregulation of banks, have opposed insurance deregulation in the past, opposed media consolidation etc. just believe it is something that will have to occur but with strict rules.

I’d like to see Trump sign EO to stop IRS enforcement of the individual mandate penalty.
If people want to keep their crappy ocare plans let them.
Trump should also stop all government propaganda PR campaigns supporting 0-care and exhorting people to sign up.
NYT, a fake news organization, is trying to claim that a phase out is needed so that they can keep nursing this crap along. A prick like rino ryan would bite on this.

Will the Obamacare tax be repealed and will the tax from past two years be refunded?

If Paul Ryan is for something I’m against it.

Don’t delay anything. Thats just what the politicians want ....they love delay, it gives them weeks and months of TV face time to talk talk talk and get reelected reelected reelected.

I tend to agree with you in that assessment.

President Trump cannot arrive on the scene fast enough.

I also don’t think “across state lines” will be such a cost saver. We are gonna end up with a single payer by a different name. It will be simple and easy and will be cause for a tax increase. They will call it TrumpCare and everyone will be happy.

He did say that ...I heard it too. What he didn’t say is what it will cost. I expect a tax increase to fund it which will probably be ok if the plan brings down the out of pocket costs to the people.

>> NYT: President Obama’s signature achievement.

An “achievement” that’s costing me an additional $650 in monthly premiums with much higher deductibles, and the entire family lost our doctors. Certainly an achievement for the scumbags on the Left.

The MSM is the Country’s greatest threat.

It absolutely is. The artificial boundaries erected against the insurance companies caused for regional regulatory requirements that hurt the ability to tailor policies to people, and in some cases caused minor monopolies.

But if the insurance company does not have the network of physicians and hospitals established that allows it to control its costs, and which allow policy holders to control theirs, then why would they want to sell their policies in that state?

Paul Ryan is GOPe, RINO, democrat. He is afraid of his own shadow. Afraid of blowback. He is a pu$&y. Too bad.

Trump needs to stay away from any of Ryans advice.

Cut out Obamacare, 1st day!

It is not legal, not in the constitution. Let the states determine how to respond.

They should—it is a market distorting, inefficient, healthcare-ruining law that has no place in our country.

Sure, keep the added Medicaid funding if they want—but junk Obamacare. The longer it goes the harder it will be to get rid of it.

It is clear now that those reporting the GOPe didn’t want to repeal it where right.

Justice delayed is justice denied.
