Will Obama pardon Clinton and cement his legacy?
Chicago Tribune ^ | December 2, 2016 | John Kass

President Barack Obama cares deeply about his legacy.

So will he dare pardon Hillary Clinton?

Before there's any more talk of carving out a chunk of Mt. Rushmore for him, or more talk of statues or temples in his name, there is that Hillary Clinton pardon issue.

Would Obama give his former secretary of state a preemptory get-out-of-jail card before he leaves office and turns the White House over to Donald Trump?

[Snip]

Now they [Democrats] wouldn't mind if Hillary were allowed to fly to some fantasy island or a mountaintop and stay out of the news so Democrats can focus on the next elections.

A mighty wind would blow, telling us to put the past behind us and look to the future.

That's what politicians say when they weasel out of something. But if you or I were nailed by the feds, sitting in federal prison making those federal tacos from federal prison commissary Fritos, they wouldn't much care.

Convicted former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Stuffed Elk Heads, wants a pardon for himself, and one for his convicted wife, former Ald. Sandi Jackson, as well as pardons for many others.

In a bizarre, rambling Facebook post the other day, Jackson linked the redemption of crooked politicians to redemption offered by Jesus Christ.

"Truly, Mr. President, with a presidential pardon equally monumental to, and greater in scope than, the Emancipation Proclamation the legacy of Barack Hussein Obama II will be one of faith, hope and love," Jackson wrote.

Little Jesse has a point ... isn't it a tad bit racist to pardon Granny Pickles and all them dope peddlers and not give him and his Donk buddies a pass?

Pardons can be very broad - they don't even have to specify the offense:

Now, THEREFORE, I, GERALD R. FORD, President of the United States, pursuant to the pardon power conferred upon me by Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution, have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.

Pardons don't shelter someone from future crimes,
and knowing the Clinton's there will be plenty of opportunity for the next AG.

Hmmmm? Depends a lot on the chosen definition of “legacy” I would think. Possibly a “teachable” moment for youngsters who may one day aspire to the position. As in: “NEVER act like #44 acted. EVER!”

The investigation must proceed anyway. It’s a matter of national security corruption at the highest levels, not just some political impropriety. Even if she cannot be convicted, we still need to know who caused what damage and how to repair the grievous harms.

Occurs to me:

If pardoned, then she can be compelled to testify against everyone involved, including herself.

Not being covered by US news sources is the fact there are millions of citizens in the streets of S Korea demonstrating and demanding their president resign for EXACTLY the same offenses 0bama and his co-conspirator Hillery are guilty of.

Sorry Jackson but that is just pure bullshit. The only cement “legacy” odumbo should receive will be 6 feet under.

Obama cannot pardon The PIAPS for crimes not committed in the US. IF Obama pardons her in the US all President Trump needs to do is allow extradition.

At that point The PIAPS might decide to waive her US pardon

Obama's from Chicago, might not want to remind him about the "cement" option:

I hope he pardons her and then the House puts her under the Kleig lights while under oath. I want them to force her to tell the truth, not only about her crimes, but Obama’s as well. They need to be exposed for history’s sake. If she lies under oath, prosecute her.

Remember Barky said when asked if he would pardon Snowden: “You have to be convicted of a crime to be pardoned” Has the formaldehyde witch been convicted of a crime yet? Has she been in front of a Jury, with a 2,000 pages of charges? Until that happens, according to the Weak One Barky, he can't pardon her...

A pardon removes Fifth Amendment rights and does not protect against future lying to Congress, the FBI, or while under oath.

Accepting a pardon in this case, with unanswered questions and no one prosecuted, would be worse for Hillary than gambling the judicial and political system will remain gutless.

With the Nixon pardon, something like 40 people were indicted, and many served prison time.

Limiting Hillary’s pardon time period wouldn’t work. She and Slick have been at this sort of criminal activity for a long time and it is continuing.

A Crinton pardon would give team Trump political cover. The Lefties would call Trump and his prosecutor "dirty, mean and nasty" from now until hell freezes over. Yet they can prosecute the rest of the Crinton cabal and maybe some Obama cronies.
