My 14 year old Freshman son is in HS Naval ROTC. He's one of the few hardcore members that has a high and tight haircut...
I don’t think they’re brainwashing centers, so much as country clubs for the mainstream snowflake class to feel accepted and be able to practice their special brand of exclusivity. This is really, for these fools, the only time when they will be able to experience acceptance without effort (we know the types) and now they’re planning a mass walk out.
This isn’t just the teachers. This isn’t just the parents. This is the students themselves getting on their moral high horse and basically making it clear that they are not going to study in school or make an effort or plan for the future. Stop blaming anyone but the people who do the things that they do. All this is on the shoulders of the students.
Hard to believe that high school ROTC was mandated for every male in Wash. DC until home rule.
Hard to calculate the follow on losses to the black community’s young men...self discipline, path to marketable trades, family life and on and on.
They are not stupid enough that they have to miss more schooling? Teachers using the stupid they teach as pawns for thier stupid agenda

Trump has done nothing of the sort and leftists have indoctrinated these children. Really can anyone imagine thinking like this when we were in high school? We had lives.
It’s Boston. They hear it from their parents, too.

Bosten teachers are abusive with children.
If these students walk out, they should be punished by being charged with an unexcused absense and given a failing grade on all work they miss.
I say this not to be vindictive, but rather because it is an important lesson to learn that actions have consequences. If they are not willing to accept the punishment or do the extra work necessary to make up what they have missed, they have no business walking out.
Allowing them to miss school without paying a price would teach exactly the wrong lesson.

Exactly. Our schools and colleges are simply brainwashing stations along the road to socialist/communist chaos.
We moved from SoCal to East Tennessee in 2015. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that our local high school in Tennessee does indeed have ROTC.
These “Skulls full of mush,” are being played by their Communist teachers and single moms. Any school permitting such nonsense should loose all funding from what ever source.
The student’s half-witted exercise in street theater is more exciting than the classroom and final tests. It is a value system that has gone amuck. Those who have instigated the protest are playing their fellow students like a foolish amusement. It is fun to see how far they get them worked up about the imagined boogieman. In reality, they can care less about real principle. Life is for them a good time. The students make it a game as to who can out-do each other in the most outrageous behavior. The boys perform to get praise from the girls. Sanctimonious feelings give them a feeling of noble self esteem; a product of the self-esteem movement. They know their protest is not going to change the election but it is a way to feel the emotion of self-justification.
There is that sense of accomplishment knowing they got over on the school faculty so they can have a block party, meet members of the opposite (and same) sex and act out moral outrage when own their behavior is on par with common criminals. Their vain stupidity and behavior becomes a mountain to the molehill of Trump’s faults.
Let the brats walk out. Send a bill to the parents of each brat for the extra time teachers will have to spend making up the class lessons.
If it comes down to money, it might catch the parents’ attention.
They’re so badly under the spell of these lefties. Ah, Donald is going to make the world cave in. Well, the make believe world of these lefties will cave in all right. But if they will take another look, they will see a real world that will get better.
Is the “faculty” even condemning this? They may be welcoming it. Ah such good little lefties, going above and beyond for the cause of leftiness.
