Democrats Remain Stuck On Stupid

In the aftermath of another devastating electoral loss, Democrats have not learned their lessons very well. In the U.S. Senate, Democrats elected 66-year old Chuck Schumer of New York as their Minority Leader, replacing the outgoing Harry Reid of Nevada. Schumer will offer more East Coast liberal leadership to a party that desperately needs to move ideologically to the center and geographically to the country’s heartland.

In an even worse move, House Democrats re-elected super liberal Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco as their Minority Leader. Pelosi has been leading House Democrats since 2003 and has been at the helm as her party has lost control of the House. Despite her horrible track record, Pelosi defeated Representative Tim Ryan of Ohio by a comfortable 134-63 margin in a closed-door session. In response to Pelosi’s re-election, Donald Trump’s Campaign Manager Kellyanne Conway tweeted, "What a relief. I was worried they had learned from the elections & might be competitive and cohesive again."

Of course, Conway is right: Democrats remain stuck on stupid. Instead of expanding their base, they chose to remain wedded to political correctness and hard core liberal leadership. Soon, they will name a new Democratic National Committee Chairman, and the leading candidate is radical Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN), a former spokesman for the Nation of Islam, who once praised anti-Semitic Minister Louis Farrakhan as a “role model for youth.”

If Ellison is elected, the Democrats will have the type of leadership team that will have little chance to win back Rust Belt voters who defected to Trump in the presidential election. Hillary Clinton was unable to inspire blue collar Democrats and they voted for Trump in surprising numbers, even turning Michigan into a red state.

Despite her devastating loss to Trump, there is some speculation that Clinton is contemplating a third presidential run in 2020. This could be why her lawyers are participating in the Wisconsin recount effort. Republicans should be delighted at the news that a two-time loser who has failed at every job she has ever held would be itching to run for President again in four years.

Instead of Hillary making another presidential run, Democrats need to figure out why they keep losing elections. Since 2010, Democrats have lost three national elections, with their only victory coming in 2012 when voters returned President Obama to the White House.

Democrats are now in the minority in both the House and Senate in the U.S. Congress. On Saturday December 10, it will get even worse for Democrats as Louisiana voters will almost certainly elect Republican State Treasurer John Kennedy to the Senate seat. This will give Democrats only 48 seats in the upper body, a major disappointment. This was the year that Democrats were supposed to make huge inroads in the Senate, since Republicans were defending 24 of 34 seats. Instead they will gain a mere two seats. On the House side, the Republicans will control approximately 241 seats, a strong majority once again.

Democrats have also suffered greatly at the state level with only 18 governors and the control of only 13 state legislatures. In fact, the Democratic Party of 2016 is a minority party with power bases on both coasts and in major cities. In between, the country is a sea of red as exemplified by the Trump presidential victory. He won 306 electoral votes in 31 states, whereas Hillary Clinton only won 232 electoral votes in 19 states.

Democrats will maintain that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote with a margin of 2.1 million votes, but that number will not win the presidency. In 2000, Al Gore also won the popular vote and lost the presidential election. In fact, this election is the fifth time in U.S. history that a president has been elected while losing the popular vote.

Democrats can continue to focus on the “popular vote victory” and a recount effort, but a better use of time would be to investigate what has happened to a party that a mere 8 years ago, wielded tremendous influence throughout the country.

Maybe sensible Democrats will realize that the Obama presidency has harmed their party tremendously, leading to losses throughout the country. The President’s agenda has been rejected by the American people who do not like his policies such as Obamacare, higher taxes, more regulation, open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens.

As president, Trump is promising to pursue popular policies that will turn back many of these Obama initiatives. This will only increase the troubles for the Democrat Party moving forward. Democrats are no longer the party of the working class, but the party of radical progressives, illegal aliens and special interests. In this election, Trump captured working class support from voters in Rust Belt states that had not voted for the GOP in a generation or more. Clearly, Trump will need to deliver for the working-class voters who entrusted him with the White House; however, assuming he is successful, the Democrats may be in the political wilderness for many years to come.

“they ran the only Dem candidate that President Trump could beat”

Trump would have beaten any demonrat.

I am still amazed at the amazement of the left at his win. Looked bleeding obvious to me. My only worry was that he wouldn’t win by more than the margin of fraud.

Kind of poetic that the face of the democrat party is frozen with Botox.

Total control is what the Democrat Party is all about. They thought they were right on the edge of having everything and were assiduously working toward just that point. They purged and purified their party preparatory to taking control. The Party is now composed of almost entirely the communist left and it would be totally out of the realm of their reality to turn back toward the heartland. For a time they will believe it is still so close all they need is some push from the streets and to knock off some effective enemies. I expect, especially with the Clintons still in the leadership, that some tactically beneficial deaths will occur among those they deem their special enemies. Because that has already started it will be easy to continue that sort of politics. If they can convince themselves that a violent revolution is possible, they will go for that, too. It is as if they were grasping the prize and someone from another reality reached through a wormhole and snatched it away. They will be especially rabid for a time. I think the Progressives will be as dangerous now as the Mohammedans.

And that margin was probably very high this year.

What a sore loser you are.

It looks like that if you would like nothing better than the rats getting the majority back again in Congress.

My husband just said Obama is on tv saying the Dems lost the election because Fox news is in every bar and restaurants in the whole country!

Haha! So, let me get this straight, if one watches Fox news in a bar or restaurant then one is mesmerized and loses all free will to do anything but vote the way Fox tells them.

Nice opinion of the country’s citizens. They are easily led.

Gee, why are they not so easily led by the umpteen number of msm telling them how to vote?

Could it be that the public has been told the facts by Fox and have seen through the media lies on the left? Or how about the public saw for themselves the policy failures the current and outgoing administration has perpetrated on the country?

50 years ago it was “common knowledge” that a Republican presidential candidate had to have a million vote margin to break even in the vote count. You know that number is probably closer to 10 times that now. Manipulating the machines is too easy and doesn’t leave fingerprints.

And the leftists will continue to impress the truly gullible... like has happened for centuries. But the youngsters are figuring out the gig, and it’s a beautiful thing.

The democrats believed that the press was their not-so-secret weapon. But they overplayed their hand. Maybe the first case was too inside-baseball for many to notice, when Dan Rather faked a story about George Bush’s war record in 2008. The press who shot down every republican presidential candidate in 2012 tipped their hand again when Candy Crowley made it clear that CNN was in Obama’s court during the second presidential debate. After that Americans started to watch a little closer. And time and time again, it was clear that the press was not just left of center. They were not just spinning news stories. In fact, they were making it up. They were telling it like it isn’t.

Once that became clear, the press pushed harder and harder trying to compensate for their lack of efficacy. Pretty soon racism was the cause of every republican victory. And sexism was the cause for Hillary not being “50 points ahead”. In fact, there was no white point of view that was not racist, no white person who could not be considered a bigot. At least white women weren’t sexists too.

So democrats just had to push the right buttons. And the blacks would think this race was about race. Women would think this race was about sexism. Hispanics would think this race was not about immigration but about anti-Hispanic hatred. And somehow they simply forgot about the blue collar workers. Surely, they would vote as they always did, because their union bosses would tell them to.

But some blacks and some women are also tired of seeing their jobs disappear. And many white women didn’t think their husbands and sons were all racists. And lots of people didn’t see anything getting better in America. And they knew Hillary. She has 35 years of scandals under her belt.

As Americans started to squint their eyes and peer askew at the world, they began to see things as they really are. And not through that left-winged film that covered all their news. Once you know it’s there, it’s easy to see the fake and the real. Even when The New York Times tries to do a reset, saying that they are going back to real journalism, the cat is out of the bag. The propaganda is now too obvious.

This is the point in the spy movies when the bad guy kills the good guy for knowing too much. Alfred Hitchcock had an apt named movie about it with Jimmie Stewart. It was called “The Man Who Knew Too Much.” And yes they did try to kill Jimmy. Good thing there are a lot of us.

“...there is some speculation that Clinton is contemplating a third presidential run in 2020.”

If the old witch is still living in 2020 (doubtful, given her health), she’ll probably be confined to a wheel chair, wearing a drool cup.

And the Dummycrats will run her anyway.

“The fasces of ancient Rome consisted of a bundle of rods and an ax strapped together.”

I remember when that symbol was on the back of the U.S. dime. FDR was on the face.

I refer to the last eight years as “The Socialist Coup” to encompass the leftism and Marxism that was gaining a better foothold by the day. I don’t care about the race or gender of our President, but I care about the health of our country. If Clinton won, it would not only have been an extension of the Obama Presidency, but a worsening of the problems we face today as a result of his policies.

The people who live along the coasts have to realize there is more to this country that what borders the Atlantic and Pacific. But theirs is a dense defense of their idealism which may go unchanged. While that might be good, it will come with small prices to pay.

These are dark times, and while Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence will do their best to right the ship, we must be careful not to expect everything will be accepted without repercussion. If that YouTube video of The Young Turds on election night is any indication, those Portland riots might become more commonplace.

I always hope to be wrong about such things.

“Trump would have beaten any demonrat.”

Trump won key states with razor-thin margins which would have easily been reversed with a candidate without the MASSIVE number of negatives Hillary had. Sadly enough, given that the enemedia and half the GOP (not to mention the Dems) attacked Trump relentlessly 24x7, Uncle Joe Biden would have crushed Trump like a bug.

Even worse, ANY of the OTHER GOP primary candidates would have lost to Hillary, and would have lost big time.

This was a unique election in U.S. history, in which the Dems ran THE worst candidate in U.S. history, yet who still managed to win the popular vote, but lost anyway because while the opposition won key states with margins under 1%.

We should all be thankful to the Almighty that the Dems were so incredibly arrogant that they ran a candidate as horrifically awful as Hillary Clinton.

Democrats don’t want to make any big changes because they know they’re toast in 2018.

The GOP could end up with 60 senators including Joe Manchin.

After 2018 look for the democrats to regroup and try to stage a comeback.
