This is way too much win. Getting sick of all this win.
(No, I’m not)

Sounds like a corporate extortion gambit.

Opening move in a negotiation. Ford CEO made the opening move. Our soon-to-be President has no obligation to negotiate on Ford's terms -- or to negotiate at all. Ford's CEO is not dealing from a position of strength. If he thinks President Trump can be rolled, he'd better think again.

No!! Now they all will threaten to leave because they want deals. Don’t give it to them.””

Many regulations- especially ones written under Obama—are not even going to take place when Obama is in office—

So, the Obama administration doesn’t even get the economic bite on his records.

The ‘regulations’ are beyond stupid—such as banning COW FARTS in California.

The EPA has been running with the bit in it’s teeth under Obama & they need to be totally taken apart.

Every day & every hour under Obama, America is under attack-—from our own ‘administration’.

Companies have to plan ahead—but I don’t think they are wiling to try & blackmail Trump. The costs of moving & getting into a country where the labor pool isn’t educated is very high. Perhaps some constraints can be put on the unions. I would like to see EVERY state in the USA a ‘Right To Work’ state. Then companies can sometimes get a better quality worker without saddling them with mandatory Union membership.

Don’t barrage me with ‘how good the Unions are for the worker’-—— I have belonged to 5 unions in my working life of 59 years. Couldn’t get the job without joining. I know how they manipulate the workers—and none of them EVER are on strike & trying to live on ‘strike pay’.

Probably the one good thing unions did for me was to push me into going to night school for over 4 years & getting all the accounting classes I could. Have worked as a full charge bookkeeper since 1975 & went out on my own & self-employed in 1980. Still have 2 clients.

He doesn’t suffer fools very well

AGREED

Let the consumer & the car makers alone. Those who insist on a high mileage vehicle with no ability to carry anything but people isn’t a vehicle a tradesman can use for their work. There are millions of tradesmen in the USA & they need a beefy truck.

I need a 1 ton truck to haul my horses & nothing smaller will be SAFE for that task. I am willing to buy & pay for the gas. By the time the CAFE standards have a ‘truck’ getting 54 miles per gallon—it no longer is a ‘truck’ that will pull my horse trailer. Calling a smaller a truck a ‘1 ton’ truck is another sales pitch. I can put the brake parts for that truck & the ones I need on my 1 ton truck alongside each other on the parts counter & I know which one I want. I don’t get to chose when I have to make a sudden stop. I better have plenty of braking surface to stop.

The government has been interfering with auto & truck manufacturing for too long now.

:et’s do some easy math:
\
The $7 million tax deal WAS offered to Carrier before Trump was elected. We don’t have the details about why Carrier turned it down.

$7 million for 10 YEARS is $700,000 per year that the stateis giving up.

But—1000 jobs are staying in Indiana, which means that their salaries & the attached taxes are staying in Indiana:

Let’s say the average gross annual wages are $35,000 a year ( suspect it is higher).

That calculates to $35,000,000 in gross payroll ANNUALLY. Figure Fed income taxes at about $3.l5 million—possibly more.
Figure state of Indiana taxes of about $2.5 million.

The net paychecks stay pretty much in Indiana & those 1000 employees have money to pay mortgages—buy cars—furniture—appliances—and other everyday items like food-power-gasoline-tires & vacations. Let’s just say that that net payroll is about $28,000,000. We didn’t need 1000 people losing their homes in one city the size of Indianapolis, either.

Indiana is giving up $700,000 a year in tax breaks & getting their bite of the apple of about $2.5 million & they are keeping other businesses open with the net paychecks staying in Indiana.

WOULD YOU GIVE ME $700,000 IF I GAVE YOU BACK $2,500,000?

That is 3.58 TIMES what you are giving me......I’ll bet you would.

The other businesses in Indiana are going to be happy, also.

My daughter bought a new Chevy (against my advice) car. Less than a week later she was rear ended while sitting at a red light and from the pics it didn't look that bad. Now after the insurance company paid $13,000 trying to fix an $18,000 car,it's junk.
The hood has a 1" gap on one side and the windshield looks ready to pop out. When you get behind it going down the road it doesn't track straight and she hasn't made the first payment. That's CAFE standards at work.

A lot of mpg nazis shut their car off so save that tiny precious amount of gasoline.

Awhile back there was a blurb on the news about why that's not a good idea........apparently in many vehicles (according to the news) much of the safety mechanisms (airbags and such) don't work when the engine is off.

That aside, if your vehicle is off, there's no time to move it another out of control vehicle comes toward you.

Look at the newssource; they are NOT deals.

They are explaining how his policies will benefit business.

Take the language back and don’t let the MSM steal the language.

Trump camp, Tweet the real story.

Palin, please don’t misunderstand again; pick up the phone and call the Trump camp if you need clarity, it doesn’t help to look uninformed.

So, is Ford trying to get a good deal?

How many more companies are gonna threaten to leave so they can sweeten the pot?

Yes but there are 5 zillion regulations. Companies can tell him exactly which regs to go after so that he doesn’t need to have a ‘study’

That’s right. Trump said that it was the regulations that made the deal..

And that is something he can control directly without going to congress or the Indiana state legislature

I have the same question and someone said it’s bottom line cause of overall cheaper labor. Instead of dealing with unions, regulations and so-called lazy workers etc. it will be employing folks who are willing to go with the flow, those with a lower standard of living who have a reputation of being “hard workers.” (There are individuals in all ethnic groups who work very hard as well of course but the culture like that of Mexico produces a worker-bee mentality I think cause if what I hear is true there’s not much of a middle class there, mostly rich and poor.

Of course.

It's a truism where government is involved... you're either at the table or you're on the menu.

Yes, take out the ethanol mandate. The convoluted tax code is another major cost in addition to the actual taxes

“NO crony capitalism! It’s not free market!”

“umm we’re just cutting regulations and the state kept their tax cut from before”

“It’s the principle!!!”

No one is asking did the negotiations begin a long time ago. After the Novi Rallye a fund raiser in Detwaa, and the guest list and or who went in is not known. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall, was Fields or Bill Ford their? That's what I'd like to know...

SNL last night showed the will continue the “Trump is dumb” meme going forward, just as they did with Palin, Bush, Quayle, and probably Reagan, though I can’t really recall.
