Rep. Kathleen Rice, D-N.Y., introduced legislation this week aimed at changing airport security screening procedures for transgender people.

Rice and other Democrats said machines require screeners to select "male" or "female" in order to configure the scanner for each person.
"This protocol may be well-suited to screen some cisgender passengers, but they do so at the expense of singling out transgender or gender nonconforming individuals whose physical appearances may not necessarily match their biological sex," Democrats wrote. "Cisgender" is a term that refers to anyone who isn't transgender.

Sex: Male / Female
we use
Penis: Yes / No
and, if we’re feeling bold, we can add “sometimes” :D

I’m sure this is a problem for 0.00000115% of the population. I’m also sure that there is absolutely no reason for any law to be passed (or regulation for that matter) which is aimed at the exception.
Those who like to play dress up can spend an extra few seconds being screened. Big whoop.
They’re just planning ahead for when Michael Obama has to fly on regular planes again.
Oh, that’s easy: don’t honor, acknowledge, or use self assigned gender ... only “boy/man” and “girl/woman” ... don’t even balk if people choose to not acknowledge “gender reassignment” ... and screw the PC crowd if the fuss.

So why not a sign “Tell us if you are trans” and if they say so then select the opposite gender. I think it just makes scanning quicker, it doesn’t impact security otherwise.
just tell them if they don’t know who they are why should we care?
