If it wasn’t for Michael Bloomberg’s billions, there wouldn’t be much of a gun-control movement.
This year, Bloomberg got a background check initiative onto the ballots of Maine and Nevada. He lost in Maine by 4 percent, and won in Nevada by just 0.8 percent. Now, Nevadans won’t be able to privately transfer their firearms without going through a background check.
Bloomberg’s initiative only eked out the win in Nevada because of the $20 million spent to support it, amounting to an incredible $35.30 per vote. He outspent his opponents by a factor of three – in Maine, by a factor of six. Bloomberg was responsible for more than 90 percent of the money going to support these ballot measures.
Of course, this doesn’t count all of the studies that Bloomberg has funded to justify the initiatives. And he gives $50 million a year to Everytown for Gun Safety to push for regulations – 2 1/2 times the amount spent by the National Rifle Association on political activities. Gun-control advocates also receive a lot of free, favorable news coverage. . . .

Bloomberg made no inroads here in Maine.
This is gun country, and Bllomberg’s side ran endless spots on TV and radio for super duper “background checks,” whereas the NO forces had very little money and ran very few ads.
The sheriffs of Maine were opposed to so- called universal background checks and they ran some good spots, in uniform, expressing their opposition to Bloomturd’s BS.
Bloomberg lost.
He lost,
but only by four points.
That is why I say inroads were made.
I recall when that spread would have been way in the double digits.
Bloomturd hired a Washington, D.C. signature gathering firm to canvas Maine, especially women, to get this turkey of a bill on the ballot.
Southern Maine, CD 1, has the majority of Maine’s population, is more liberal and too close to Massachusetts.
That’s another problem.
Plus, the gun grabbers had all the money. For every anti “universal background” political ad on TV and radio, the Bloomturd gun grabbers must have had 100 or more.
I expected it to pass, quite frankly, and was really happy when it did not. There was no way this was going to fail by double digits with the money and onslaught by the out-of-state libs. Plus, the wording of the bill as printed on the ballot was evasive and confusing.
Most of Maine is rural; 80% of the state is in CD 2, which went for Trump, giving him one electoral vote.
People in CD 2 love their firearms and Second Amendment rights just as much as the people of Texas. CD 2 defeated Mikey Bloomturd, who dropped $6 million in Maine to try to mess with our Constitutional rights.
When the sheriffs of two only counties are for a bill, you can pretty much bet that the others will not enforce it. If my neighbors and I want to loan our rifles to each other, we will continue to do so.

The answer is sort of. Read the URL down below. It explains the procedure better than I can. I believe form 4473 came into existence shortly after Bobby Kennedy was assassinated, think it was 1968. Currently, most states do not require any records to be kept of private gun sales, gifts, bequeaths, etc.
