WELCOME TO THE TRUMP FAMILY TRAIN

We are in the fourth week since the election until the Inauguration

The first THANK YOU rally last night in Cinti revealed another packed house of enthusiastic Americans supporting Donald J. Trump as he reviewed the election, shared more of his vision and made on appointment announcement (that is a secret) of Mad Dog Mattis. We are all anticipating this week will reveal the new SOS plus other key announcements.

LOL on shortcut! How fun.

My sister lives in a well-developed area (many of the homes around her have been there since the 70s but lots of new ones going up not far away and there’s a main street with various stores about a mile away). I’ve sat on her front porch having coffee in the early morning and seen deer walk across her yard. One time a doe was walking down the middle of the street in front of her house followed by a fawn followed by a buck. Have seen coyotes and what I thought was a wolf, larger than the coyote - hard to tell as it was dark and the only light were the street lights - walking down the street, too.

She also has bunnies in her front yard. Don’t really have a clue where all these animals are coming from. IIRC it’s normally spring or summer. I have deer walking or running across streets not far from me. Almost hit one last year as it just darted out in front of me - slammed on my brakes and was hoping the car in back of me didn’t it me. Was so happy the deer wasn’t it.

She and I both have had bear warnings in our neighborhoods the past few years. I’m in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, so it’s a bit more understandable for my area than hers.

:-)

Good news - Bikers for Trump will be at inauguration, though it looks like they waited too long to snap up the best space, which protesters got. Expecting 1000s of bikers :-)

Thank you, SC, for this article.

I just had to FB it to one of my grand-daugthers, who at the age of 16, deserves the “Best Youth Entrepreneur” award.

She owns her own company that supplies B1 Doodles to folks, especially ones with allergies.

There have been goldendoodles, labradoodles, bernedoodles, and Irish doodles.

She is not a puppy mill and rails against them.

Only has one litter at a time, most are sold before or right after they are born.

At 6 weeks they are on their way to their new loving families, which she has screened and gotten to know.

She has placed dogs all over this country and then received feedback as to how they are doing, photos and videos are so fun to see and watch.

I am so proud of her, a very loving, caring young lady.

More info on PA - hearing on Friday. It sounds like the judge may be a non-nonsense type and was appointed by GW Bush.

Hopefully the organizers have kept the protesters far enough away that they won’t be able to cause problems during the ceremony..........

You have every right to be proud of your granddaughter - what a great thing she’s doing, an awesome young lady. She will go far!

My cousin and his wife have been involved in the initial care and training of service dogs for a few years. They work with the puppies until they’re a certain age and then sometimes turn them over to another volunteer for more training. A real worthy endeavor! I would have a hard time doing that as I’d get too attached to the dogs! They normally work with labs and retrievers, I’ll have to ask them if anyone in their club works with doodles - they are so darn cute and good dogs. I think if I were to get a dog, I’d lean towards a doodle, though I love German Shepherd (but they shed).

Agree! I remember GW’s inauguration and people had lined the streets to watch it go buy, with military lining the streets in front of the peeps. It would be great if none of the protesters were on the actual parade route, but don’t know if they can stop that based on the permits. It wouldn’t surprise me for loners or a groups of a few would be out amongst the supporters on the route.

Love this picture and God bless Ray Chavez.

I hope and pray he was able to make the trip and he is there with his fellow WWII vets.

OK, so what you’re saying is, all three states sent something in, (like MI did on Nov 28th & Dec 2nd), otherwise there wouldn’t be a basis for a recount?

And that there’s something to work with (the first certificate), if the recount doesn’t get done on time?

I haven’t found the certificates for PA and WI.

That tweet said that it was certified the 28 the and the doc in the link has the electors names & dated the 2nd.

Sounds like your area is similar to ours.

We have deer and elk herds wandering our neighborhood and, honestly, I think they need to be thinned out.

I love seeing the animals but there are so many here that it can be dangerous. I think that here the elk pose the highest danger for humans.

I’ve seen more bunnies the last two years than before and it may have something to do with the disappearance of our foxes. Foxes were common but became overpopulated and then they had a mange epidemic and died out. I miss seeing them. Now that they’re gone, I hope that coyotes don’t replace them. There’s already been one sighted in our neighborhood.

I never thought I’d live in a place where when I go outside at night I’m sure to make noise to run off the wild things! Lol!

German Sheperds are my favorite, too.

They were my kids constant companion when they were growing up.

Living in a rural area had the plus that the dogs went everywhere with them, except to school, and mom didn’t have any worries someone would mess with her kids.

I would love one of GD’s bernedoodles, bernese mountain+poodle, but hubby says no more dogs.

He has good reasons but....

I told him when he dies, I will get a dog and name him his name!

-- OK, so what you're saying is, all three states sent something in, (like MI did on Nov 28th & Dec 2nd), otherwise there wouldn't be a basis for a recount? --

No. I'm not saying that. All I'm saying is that the list of electors is not the same as the electoral votes, which haven't been taken yet.

As for the relationship between "recount" and "certification," "recount" can and does happen both before and after certification. Certification does not foreclose recounting. Before certification, the election officials might recount on their own, follow state law, and they do so regularly when the margin is close enough. When the "election clerks" are done counting and maybe recounting, the results are certified. But that is NOT the end of it.

I also don't believe that sending certifications of ascertainment forecloses recounting, but it would make things messy at the federal electoral vote counting level, as there could be competing certificates of ascertainment, one with a stale (invalid) slate of electors, and a second one that matches with the electoral ballots.

If the Certs of ascertainment are sent BEFORE the state courts have weighed in, it creates a risk of that. And in MI, it appears that there is SOME process that can start as late as Nov 30, even if invalid, that won't be settled by the state court system until a week or so later at best. I'll add that I haven't studied MI election law, and it may be that there was sound reason to conclude, on Nov 28 or whenever the Certs were sent, that no state court challenge was possible, or that even if possible in theory, the outcome was a foregone conclusion.

Back to "recount" and "certification" in general, the certified loser can CONTEST the certified results in court, and recounting can happen yet again, or for the first time, depending on the whim of the court.

As for the lists of electors, I agree, PA and WI have not submitted theirs. 2016 Presidential Election - Certificates of Ascertainment.

As I compose this post, the following fourteen states have sent Certs of Ascertainment:

One point of clarification, where I made a mistaken statement ...

Certification is a necessary precondition for recount

That is false, as stated, and what I had in mind was that Certification is a necessary precondition for an election CONTEST. The election contest may involve court-supervised recounting, or even a new election (not for presidential electors, but not unheard of for other offices).

Sorry for the confusion, and my mistake from the get go.
