Jerry Brown nominated Xavier Becerra to be California's next attorney general, the longtime U.S. lawmaker warned the Trump administration to expect a fight if newly emboldened Republicans challenge the Golden State's liberal laws and policies. "If you want to take on a forward-leaning state that is prepared to defend its rights and interests, come at us," Becerra, a 12-term Democratic congressman from Los Angeles, told reporters

That’s the key to me - being a big “states rights” type of person. So things sanctuary cities, etc. The trouble is that so many things are linked to the Feds that shouldn’t be. Like the whole education and “common core” thing. Although I don’t think that is a law - just that the Feds won’t give you funding if you don’t follow it. (IIRC some state said fine - we’ll pay for our own education).
I know lots of the drunk driving, seat belt and other similar laws are linked to federal highway funding. I’m guessing most folks in a state like tougher DWI rules, but seat belt use? I know some state don’t require motorcycle helmets - I wonder how that works with the feds?
Trump’s going to loose sleep over this.......

Becerra, you are not in a position to talk to the President. I would make changes to CA my priority after such if I were President.

Maxine Waters is a 13 term Democratic congresswoman from Los Angeles so I guess Becerra is only slightly more stupid than Maxine. That's a long way to go to come up to Trump's level...kinda like going from the Mariana Trench to Mt. Everest.

I don’t think Trump will challenge any of their silly liberal laws. They can have all they want.
