House Democrats have a responsibility to fight for the "majority voice" of voters who rejected Republicans and President-elect Trump, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer said Wednesday.
Hoyer, D-Md., said during a news conference that more people in the November election "voted for the agenda that this leadership group represents" and not for Republicans, who retained the majority in the House, the Senate and recaptured the White House.

As a lifetime Marylander I have to say your characterization is mostly, but not entirely, accurate. Many in the rural counties of the eastern shore and the counties to the west of Montgomery County are quite conservative. When I retired I left the Prince Georges County cesspool and moved to Garrett County, which I beliueve has voted Republican in every election since it was carved out of Allegany County in 1872.

You stated this as a joke, right? Because I think it’s safe to say that at least 75% of the adult population does not know that. I know for a fact that most of my friends and relatives, the majority of whom are well educated in the academic sense, would not know how to correctly describe our form of government. Most would say it’s a “democracy”!

Government schools have deliberate NOT edcuated children for decades about who and what America really is. Yes, we are a Free Constitutional Republic. The ONLY legal bulwark of freedom protecting us form the tyranny for the feds is the CONSTITUTION. Somehow our American People MUST re-familiarize themselves with the Constitution which LIMITS government.

The diminution of the big cities hold on our Republic should start with changing how the census data is used to create legislative districts. the census counts everyone irrespective of citizenship. Then those totals are utilized to create the “one man, one vote” districts. Since the census has tons of illegals counted in these cities, the cities get more districts, a hence more political clout. “They” tried to undo this travesty in Los Angeles County not long ago and “they” were blocked by liberal judges. Trump needs to fix this. LA would have a whole lot less power in both the State and the Federal governments if the 3 million or so illegals that currently live there were excluded from the census data.
