Doesn't this raise questions about how ISIS and its affiliates may be controlling or triggering these remote jihadis?
I mean, are they recruiting guys with fervent "piety" and then weaponizing them with some kind of psychoactive drug or operant conditioning?
Yes, yes, I know that Islam itself is, in essence, weaponized piety, with jihad as one of its defining characteristics. But haven't we seen a number of individual cases where a guy seemed "normal," distinctly UN-motivated to murder his fellow students and so forth, and then "for no reason" flip out?
Drugs? Brain devices? Psy-ops? I'm just raising the question.
